Biden and Trump aren't the only ones on the ballot this coming election.

Definitely not but they are the ones getting the most attention, obviously, and what the average American is focused on.

Change begets change. We are a society of followers. The movement had started small, but it is future generations that will benefit the most by what has happened already. Too many ignorant people in the world for it to happen overnight without infringing on American rights given by the constitution. As long as those rights are in place you will have a-holes hiding behind them ignorantly, not even realizing they are infringing on other people’s rights by their actions. By no means do I think these rights need to be changed, I am merely stating that change will not happen overnight.. it’s not the rights, it’s the ignorance and stubbornness in that ignorance.

The reason I can’t agree with Lyman on a “strike for injustice” isn’t because the players won’t unite for a cause, it’s because unfortunately they are already united for a cause, that cause is greed. Boycotting a game is one thing, walking out on a season and paychecks is quite another. The majority of the players can’t survive without those paychecks. This isn’t something that the NFLPA can afford to cover them on either. It isn’t a labor issue within their CBA/League, it’s a national issue.

The platform is there for them to educate by speaking loudly to any and all who will listen, and yet very few use that opportunity. Not because they don’t want change, but because they are not champions for that change. It takes a whole other level of human being to be a Harriet Tubman or Martin Luther King Jr.

For the type of over night change everyone wants, it will take an army of THESE TYPE of people from all races to unite. They are just so precious few and far between.

We as a society have always inadvertently put athletes on such a high pedestal that we either don’t believe when they do something wrong without video evidence, or think they are super human in more than just strength and agility.

I agree 100% with BWW, it has got to start with a clean sweep of the local and state level officials. BUT, we have to have a lot more of the super human beings willing to step up into those roles for change to occur.

I’m proud to say I am a Republican. I have never spoken out against a president in my nearly 5 decades of existence, but I’m also not too ignorant to not be against a president that facilitates anger, oppression and the status quo. President Trump will do everything in his power to divide society even more into a hierarchy of rich vs impoverished. I didn’t vote for him in 2016 and I will not be voting for him in 2020. As @Lyman stated “Biden and Trump aren’t the only ones on the ballot this coming election “. I will do my diligence and vote for the candidate which respectfully represents the betterment of the country. I can not believe it will be either of the two at the forefront. Many say my vote will be lost, but I don’t feel that way. It takes a small wave to form a tidal change.

    Well now . . .

Getting back to the intent of this thread: We're within spitting distance of the start of the 2020 season. Final cutdown to the 53 man roster is this Sunday. There will, no doubt, be some subtractions and additions but it appears our roster is fairly set in stone. So, here's my amateur prediction . . .
    1. 9/13 - @ BAL : Loss
    2. 9/17 (Thu) - CIN : Win
    3. 9/27 - WAS : Win
    4. 10/4 - @ DAL : Loss
    5. 10/11 - IND : Loss
    6. 10/18 - @ PIT : Loss
    7. 10/27 - @ CIN : Win
    8. 11/1 - LVS : Win
    9. ** BYE **
    10. 11/15 - HOU : Loss
    11. 11/22 - PHI : Win
    12. 11/29 - @ JAX : Win
    13. 12/6 - @ TEN : Loss
    14. 12/14 (Mon) - BAL : Loss
    15. 12/20 - @ NYG : Win
    16. 12/27 - @ NYJ :Win
    17. 1/8 - PIT :Win
If you break out your fingers and toes - that ends up at 9-7 for the season and a 2nd consecutive 3rd place finish in the AFC North.

You got the division games wrong Lyman. The Steelers will sweep you, you will sweep the Ravens and split with the Bengals

  7. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

I suspect you have them (the Browns) winning that game not because you think the Browns are the better team but, rather, because you want the Colts to lose.

For the record: I think the Colts win the AFC South this year.

  8. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

    13-3 confirmed.

  9. gidion72 Legend Steelers

Now you’re predicting the Steelers record?

  10. For the record: I think the Colts win the AFC South this year.

Sorry Lyman that ain't going happen.

    Maybe . . . Maybe not.

Look at the bright side. Even if the Titans finish in 2nd, whoever they play in week 17 will probably rest their starters and you can back into the playoffs . . .

    AGAIN !!! ;)

Its an interesting and even more competitive division now, especially with the Colts arguably improving. If you picked the Texans or the Colts or Titans, you wouldnt be wrong... definitely a 3 team race in my opinion.

    You didn't ask.

    But sure, Steelers: 6-10

With the trade acquisition of Ronnie Harrison from the Jags, the Browns' future defensive secondary just got a lot younger. But not for the achilles injury to Grant Delpit, the "old man" of this group would have been Denzel Ward.

Ward is in his 3rd year in the NFL, Harrison and Greedy Williams their 2nd year and Delpit was entering his rookie year when he got injured.

    IF Ben doesn't get hurt again . . . 10-6.

If he does . . . You'll be duking it out with the Bengals for 4th place.
