When we are inside on training days we have only 5 dogs and vets in class. We take everyone's temp and provide masks and have plenty of sanitizer. If the weather is good we'll even split up that class and send one group outside. These events are what pay the bills for our veterans and we went months without having one. Believe me, I thought long and hard about this, but I won't turn my back on these veterans now as their issues aren't put on hold just because we are, but we just need to do things carefully and exercise caution.
Sarcasm is an art form that I'm just starting to learn. Under the Great Masters like EvertonBears, Bww and tuna ....
You know Ev you try to be nice and this is what you get. Gotta go now my awe and admiration runneth over.
At least three Wisconsin police agencies are pulling out of security agreements to send personnel to next month's Democratic National Convention over orders that would prevent officers from using certain crowd control measures during protests. Fox News ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A) Can you blame them ?? B) Go ahead. !! Put on the show with no security. Then you'll see what "defund the police" looks like !!!!
I don't think you know what "de-fund the police" means. And cops being punk-ass b****es by throwing hissy fits and threatening not to do any work because the government won't keep giving them money for tanks is... well, childish, to say the least.
Personally I can't think of a worse term than "defund the police" so many draw conclusions that it means to abolish the department, well it doesn't. Many of the things they've been asking officers to do will be redirected to other departments that will be perhaps better suited to handle them without escalation.
First off. Yes I do know what it means. And we both know it will never happen. Just making a point . "being punk-ass b****es by throwing hissy fits and threatening" Seattle, Portland, name your city. What's your point ??????
I'm not going to say your wrong. But I don't think that idea is going to fly. And we're talking full blown riots here. Send in social services ???? That'll work !!!
We're talking about two different things. I was pointing out what defund police means because so many misinterpret its meaning. You appeared to use it wrong perhaps to make a sarcastic point, but wrong nonetheless. As far as it flying the jury is still out on that so who really knows. It can work in some situations others not so much, but who actually makes that determination will be crucial for it to be successful.
Yes I can. The police are one of those jobs that you have to do and do well regardless of what people say or think about you. Throwing a bitch fit isn't an option. Everyone that is complaining about defunding the police, and a lot of people in favor of it, don't actually understand what it means. It doesn't mean no police.
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." - JFK I've thrown this quote out there a couple times now. Stop and read it and think about it. That is why you see things like Seattle and Portland. Everyone thinks these protests are so wrong and evil. And surely a lot of the protesters are idiots. But there's still a message to be heard and, like always, it's being ignored by most.
To play a bit of devil's advocate. Yes, and who's fault is that? The police? The protestors? The looters/rioters? The media? The message is getting lost and distorted, to the point that I wonder how much change will happen even with 2 months of protests now. It didn't take long for our "CHAZ/CHOP" area to turn from hippie commune to murders. It's a complex problem with no easy solutions, as much as everyone is currently trumpeting defund the police, as though a budget reduction solves racism (I'm being a bit glib here, but the point is, no single policy solves these problems). One thing I have thought, is what this movement really lacks, is a compassionate leader with a voice to effect change. There is no MLK leading this movement. Instead there's a bunch of half baked ideas by committee and no agreement amongst them.
When a black guy kneeled that message got distorted too. It was made into something it wasn't and because of it, nobody listened. If your dog barks to go out, and you don't let him out and he shits on the floor whose fault is that? Yep, not a one. Boom!
Yes. All of them. The rioters...the media...the people who take to Facebook and other outlets to complain but never lift a finger to make the world around them better....are the biggest violators. Budget reduction doesn't solve racism but what it should do is call attention to needed reforms. Totally agree. There isn't one person, left or right, that I'd look to right now and say this person can guide us. I'm more inclined to follow Dave Chapelle right now than I am any current political leaders or social commentators.
Well, the protesters are back. But this time it's the blm crowd. And like last time the locals are waiting for them. But this time the Sheriffs Dept is keeping them apart. We'll see how that goes. And oh buy the way, the mountains just north and east of here are on fire. 6 square miles as of this morning. But it a lot bigger now. 102 degrees today. Tonight I can go out to my driveway and see the flames. Interesting day !
And oh buy the way, the mountains just north and east of here are on fire. 6 square miles as of this morning. Saw that on our Local News up here SCS...........Stay Safe my friend.
