Doesn’t matter. By the Madden formula Brady is one of 3-5 QBs who can magically release the ball a full second or two after he gets drilled in the chest by a DL.
And throw it on the run behind you facing the wrong way and zip it perfectly into triple coverage 40-yards downfield.
Was he ever 81 even after one of his many injury plagued seasons? Again, Madden really doesn’t matter, but it’s that last little bit before TC lol
Honestly I think he was 85-86 the last couple releases during his career. Sorry I’m blanking. What’s TC? The season? As for the low ratings, you can notice it a lot with the promising rookies. But the way they’ve done it lately those guys start low, but then improve quickly over their first 1-2 seasons. But even that can depend on the position they play. I have found that to build a great “team”, I end up progressing and regressing every player between 83-88. If we’re winning my DE’s and DBs end up between 83-84, DTs, OLs and TEs 85-88, WRs about 85-86. I think going through seasons you can’t keep players above 90 unless you game plan specifically to improve one player and not like a real coordinator. But I personally find I lose more if I do that. I definitely build my offenses around the run game overall. So my guards and RBs always end up closer to 90. And generally win in the front four on defense. DTs seem to reach higher OVRs
Watt is ranked 7th among outside linbackers and is the 5th best player on the steelers. I dont think its as big of a slap in the face some fans are trying to make it.
The people at EA sports are happy that their game is in the news. Good or bad, people talking about it will drive up sales. Indifference is the enemy. Every team has some players and groups that are way off, Stephon Gilmore was an 81 2 years ago..... now he’s a 99? Same player, same team.
He had a great season and has been trending up for a couple years so not a surprise he is highly rated. Not sure 99 is right but definitely 90+.
You may be right about Watt, still think he should be above 90, but Ben, Nelson and even Dupree seem really low.
Sure, he’s arguably one of the top corners in the game but he was two years ago also when he was an 81. Madden ratings are BS and always have been is really my only point.
In a lot of ways everything about Madden is BS. But that’s an unfortunate consequence of being the only game in town
Gilmore is a 99 while White is a 90. Madden is a fucking joke. Both CBS are the best at what they do. one is better at zone and one at man. EA employees explanation for the rating are BS as well. They just have a complex to be relevant.
I’m sure I’m late to the party, but just reading up on the games’ future and starting in 2021 2K has the right to produce NFL games again. I can tell you right now that barring any major information coming out I’ll buy 2K blind and boycott the shit out of Madden. I’m not naïve enough to think the whole world will follow suit because EA has a huge headstart on the online competition game. But I know there are significant groups of NFL fans who have felt disrespected by the way EA has bullied us into buying their lazily “improved” games for the last decade plus simply because they’ve had a monopoly on the name and team likeness rights. The NFL should never have agreed to such a lengthy exclusivity deal with any company. It goes completely against what the United States economy claims to be based on. And it leads to an inferior product out of pure complacency. Look no further than the last 10 years of Madden releases for proof.
Would love some competition for EA. If anyone else can get the rights and put something close to the same level I’d jump ship in a heartbeat. Fuck EA. I’ve purchased every Madden and NHL ever produced and it really is a $60 roster update most years. What an insanely stupid purchase year after year.
I bought Madden 19 for $10, and couldn't even make it through the tutorial. Breaking a tackle comes down to a random button push that pops up above your head? Catching is a rock paper scissors battle between WR and CB? Only other Madden game I've ever owned is 2013. And that was a better game, for all its flaws. 2K5 is still the best football game I've played. 2K can technically make football games, but they can't be "simulations". So, something like the old NFL Blitz might be okay, but Madden is still the only game in town for an actual NFL game. The NFL just renewed that exclusivity for several years, again. We'll get some kind of NFL game from 2K, but nothing that will technically compete with Madden. It's bulls***. The NFL always manages to make the worst possible decision, in everything. As for NHL, I'm hoping they make a leap with the new console. Until then, I'm playing NHL 19 and not looking to change anytime soon. Took me a year to get the sliders remotely realistic, so I'll wait another five years, easy...
Shit!! You’re right. That pisses me off. Six more years of false improvements. I might be too old to buy the new version finally anyways. Maybe I can talk myself into skipping it. Two of my favourite Madden realities in even the most recent version: 1) When you’re running to make a tackle you’re about 1 step away from and a guy magically blocks you from 2 yards behind you. (Obvious holding at best, but you won’t get that called) 2) When the AI teams in franchise mode release their own 1st or 2nd round picks before they ever play a regular season game. 3) A third for fun. How about a 100 play offensive playbook with at least 5 plays that will never work, and 10-15 that will work 38 times out of 40. Realistic right?
I was thinking about using the Madden game I have just for simulations - not playing the games, sadly, but at least running franchise mode. I like the management side of things. Now that I hear this... well, I have perished the thought. What a shame.
I mean.....it's a video game. It's like when people complain about Call of Duty not being realistic. This yearly obsession with the Madden ratings is extremely weird to me.
