He might win an electoral landslide, but he'll lose the popular vote once again, this time to a man who's barely sentient.
Add Harding to a list of the worst. He was more corrupt even than Trump but more inconspicuous. Plus I think he sat around the White House playing cards all day, which is on par with sitting around the White House watching cable news all day. Add Lincoln to the best.
After considering this a little bit more, I will say this. We have zero first hand knowledge of what any president was like before our lifetime, so trying to judge the ones before is fruitless because a lot of the critiques of them can be very skewed by the views of the writers. So I was born when LBJ was in office and I can say with 100% accuracy that Trump is the best president in my lifetime.
Mt. Rushmore folk are all towards the best yes. Harding was bad, but wasn't as corrupt as Grant. He died 2 years into his 1st term before Calvin Cooledge drove us into the Great Depression with those fantastic republican policies that FDR had to fix. Grant was a popular celebrity who went through cabinet members/aides as fast as Trump does now due to nonstop scandals, nepotism, and corruption. He inherited a solid economy from an impeached Andrew Johnson before driving it in the toilet causing most of the railroad companies at the time to go belly up, enabled the 'Gold Standard' before letting the two wealthiest railroad tycoons monopolize gold after they treated him to a ride on a fancy yacht, failed to annex the Dominican Republic after an insubordinate former traitor/confederate General wouldn't do what was ordered, supported Spain in the Cuban/Spanish 10 years war before Spain started targeting American trade ships in the Caribbean, and made tons of bad blunders out west with the natives both hostile and friendly at the time, most notably enabling Custer (who ironically surrendered to him after the Confederacy's treasonous, failed rebellion) before he and his men got slaughtered at Little Big Horn. Republicans told him in 1876 that they were going to go with Rutherford B Hayes instead of him. But hey, he wasn't all bad. He did establish trade with Hawaii. Long story short, fantastic general and tactician. Garbage politician.
He's winning a TV show? If anyone here wants to show their kids why drugs are bad....I think you just need to show them Gid's posting history.
What are the metrics for who is worse? More US citizens fell below the poverty line during the 8 years Reagan was in office than in any other POTUS's tenure before that. Not to mention a lot of the problems we experience today had their beginnings during the 80s. Reagan ranks on my 5 worst for sure.
Hate replying to myself...but also most of New England is very much Democrat and will mostly be blue regardless of candidate.
