2020 NADL Dynasty League Draft

I have some potential solutions that I’m going to sort through and I will make a decision as soon as I have confirmation that no more changes are coming down the pipeline..

 

This latest change is in designation name only and the individual players will continue to have defensive designations modified like they do every offseason.

 

Right now, because teams have already started to modify rosters based on the new designations, the fix I’m inclined to proceed with is as follows -

New Starters -

FLEX (EDR / IL)
FLEX (LB / EDR)

DB

 

This might also become -
FLEX (EDR / IL)

I’ve been crunching the numbers and it only marginally devalues stud DEs but it thins out the LB pool significantly.

Also, it appears there are not enough killer ILs to justify forcing owners to carry and start one.

 

The simplest fix is to revert back to the original system which is still my strongest inclination.

 

Of course this drops the year I lose Luke. That being said I like the EDR designation, however I have not gone in and seen where the placed individual players yet.

 

I’ve been given a suggestion that I think is the best idea so far.

Revert back to the original format for this year.

Implement the new format at the beginning of the 2021 offseason.

This works for me. I mean I have built my team for the original format, but it doesn’t appear the new system will affect me much.
And for reasons I don’t want to go too in depth about I think the new system will actually increase parity in our league.

 

What I find annoying is that Isaiah Simmons was switched to Edge and then back to linebacker within 2 days. I found out it's because people cried that he's a LB and not a DE. The problem there is that he is projected by most sources to play almost exclusively WILL which means they were right under their new system to move him the first time and their timing meant he was only different for the draft. So the funny thing is if they fix it back, even for this year he'll probably be a LB for me under the old rules anyways. It's this window that sucks of only 2 days on a change being undone. I don't know if I would have drafted differently but I might have taken Bosa instead.
