Doug Pederson says Eagles’ offense will “look a little bit different” Eagles head coach Doug Pederson fired offensive coordinator Mike Groh after Philadelphia’s playoff loss and brought in some fresh coaching blood. Pederson says those coaching changes will be apparent on the field. Pederson said the new hires, including senior offensive assistant Rich Scangarello and senior offensive consultant Marty Mornhinweg, as well as adding pass game coordinator to quarterbacks coach Press Taylor’s title, should make a difference. “I think what we’ve done as a staff in the offseason with our scheme evaluation, making things better, the staff hires that I’ve done to bring in new thoughts and new ideas and ways to enhance our offense, I think [the offense] is going to look a little bit different,” Pederson said, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. There are indications that the Eagles want their offense to look like the one that 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan runs. Scangarello spent two years as quarterbacks coach under Shanahan in San Francisco and a year on the Falcons’ staff when Shanahan was the offensive coordinator in Atlanta. The Eagles would love to have the kind of success this year that Shanahan had last year. NBC
Joe Buck: “Pretty much a done deal” FOX will use fake crowd noise for games without fans Fans quite possibly won’t be present for football games in 2020. But that doesn’t mean it will be quiet. Via John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, FOX’s Joe Buck told Andy Cohen of SiriusXM Radio that “it’s pretty much a done deal” that the FOX and other networks will use fake crowd noise for games played without fans. Buck also suggested that virtual fans will be used, so that when a wide shot happens the fans at home will see the appearance of a full stadium. Even if it isn’t. Astute football fans don’t need to be told when to cheer or boo or curse or whatever. But for plenty of viewers the external noise is the nudge they need to know how to feel. Here’s hoping that, if they do it, they do it right. Up to and including a virtual chant of “bullsh-t” when the home team is on the wrong end of a bad call. NBC __________ _____________________ I got a good idea... lets use a fake, Joe Buck also.
I'm really not digging this (I love the idea of a fake Joe Buck, though). Who dictates when the "audience" reacts? How is the reaction decided? How is the volume decided? Virtual fans? That's going to look and feel awkward as hell. Obviously there needs to be more details figured out, but... I'm not liking where this is going.
Fox is televising a Nascar race on Sunday with no fans in the stands. That might give us some idea of what it's going to look and sound like.
So when a fan favorite makes a play like when Heath Miller did in Pitt are they going to do a fake Heattttttttttthhhhhhhjjh? When the Steelers are on the road are they going to sound like their the home team? If not, it won’t be real. And we all know, if it ain’t Steel , it ain’t real
SCS............How are you. Brees and Winston (bu) for QB in New Orleans.........WOW they should win NFC South......Brady Who.......lol Hope all is well in Cali........\+/.....Beer
A report earlier this week indicated the Jets think they are going to land cornerback Logan Ryan on a one-year deal, but Ryan isn’t ready to close his door on other possibilities just yet. Ryan appeared on NFL Network Thursday and said that the Jets “would make sense” as a New Jersey native who played his college ball at Rutgers. He also said that he’s “completely open for business” as far as receiving offers. “I’m trying to do what’s best for my family and everything like that,” Ryan said. “There are a lot of rumors out there. I can’t confirm any of it because I’m obviously still not signed yet. So, we’ll see. I obviously want to get a deal done whenever and I’m open to it. We’ll see what happens there.” The Dolphins have also been mentioned as a suitor for Ryan’s services and Ryan said he’ll announce his decision on Instagram whenever he comes to agreement on a contract. Well,,, I liked Brees and Bridgewater better. Winston threw 30 picks last season. He had eye surgery over the off season and says that he can see a lot better. But just because you can see a target doesn't mean that you can hit it. We'll see. Brady who ? I also have Bridgewater (Carolina) to worry about. And Atlanta still has Matt Ryan. Those are 4 damn good QB's in this division. The NFC South is not going to be the cakewalk for us that it was last year. Still think that the Saints are the best team in the division. But the playoffs are still a long way away.
Best team doesn't always win, but sure gives them better odds lol I heard a really strange opinion during the draft, and it seemed to be popular with some people. They called for Atlanta to cut Ryan and sign Newton. Don't think that's a good idea as I think Ryan is better, but it was interesting nonetheless. Don't think its plausible either with cap implications
Are you f'ing kidding me ?? Ryan is a good, competent QB. Newton is a head case (always has been) that STILL can't find a job. IDIOTS !!!!!
My Predication's and reasons why for the NFC South........... 1) New Orleans Saints...10-6......Drew Brees he will be 42 years old if he can make it to the Super Bowl in 2021.......Last Kick at the Can. 2) Atlanta Falcons...9-7.............Matt Ryan will be 35 on SUNDAY....May 17th/20.....he has had some good Kicks already and this will be his Last. 3) Carolina Panthers...8-8.........Bridgewater will be 28 half way through the season in Nov/20...he has ONE playoff game in 6 years.....his last Kick at the can, Period !!! 4) Tampa Bay Buccs...7-9..........Tom Brady will be 43 in August /20 and he is the CAN......I say Kick him to the Curb........lol
Quinton Dunbar, DeAndre Baker accused of armed robbery The Miramar, Florida, police department announced on social media it has issued arrest warrants for Giants cornerback Deandre Baker and Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar. Baker faces four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Dunbar faces four counts of armed robbery with a firearm. The players attended a party at a private residence Wednesday night when an argument ensued, and Baker drew a semi-automatic firearm, according to the arrest affidavit. With Baker directing, Dunbar helped collect more than $11,000 in cash, an $18,000 Rolex watch, a $25,000 Hublot watch, a $17,500 Audemars Piguet watch and other valuables from partygoers. At one point, Baker ordered another armed man in a red mask to shoot someone who walked into the party. The armed man did not comply. There are conflicting witness statements about whether Dunbar had a gun or not. Vehicles were pre-positioned to expedite an immediate exit. Baker and Dunbar “lost” about $70,000 two nights earlier at a different party in Miami, and TMZ.com reports the losses were from gambling. The NFL and Giants both said they were aware of the matter, per NFL Media. Baker, 22, started 15 games after the Giants made him the 30th overall selection in 2019. Dunbar, 27, started 11 games in his fifth NFL season in 2019. Washington traded Dunbar to Seattle in March, and he participated in a conference call with Seahawks beat reporters earlier Thursday before news of the arrest warrant broke. NBC
Ehhhhh... Nascar has never been a sport whose fans changed the viewing experience for those watching at home. You never hear them / rarely see them, until the race is over. Even then, only if you're watching through the podium ceremony. I'm not sure how much we'll learn, but I guess we'll see!
Yeah I didn’t get it either. It was more of the celebrity opinion but Deon kind of agreed with it, so it cemented it as a bad idea lol
