lol! Browns fans just have that kind of power. JFTR: They were replaying one of the games that was a prime example of the Browns getting completely screwed, as pointed out in that kid's video. Browns/Raiders game from 2018. Great game completely ruined by one of the most mystifying officiating debacles I've ever seen in my life. It was right on cue....
They hate us 'cause they ain't us. After the dust has settled, easy to say it was a means to an end, but I *erupted* at that call. In no world does any other team secure a first down, get it reviewed, review upholds, and then the referee inexplicably moves the ball back a solid 1.5 yards. And as some folks have pointed out - sure... the judgement calls on gameday are horrendous all around the league. Referees haven't been willing to let it go since Bottlegate with respect to screwing our team, though.
The booing of the refs, at that Chargers game in Cleveland, was so loud and intense as they headed off the field at halftime, I was seriously concerned for their safety. I've never heard anything like that. It was well deserved, and it's good that nobody threw anything at them or did anything stupid. It was just really loud booing from 80,000 pissed off people, and I'm glad the idiot responsible for nearly causing a riot, lost his job over it. He's fortunate that it didn't happen against one of our division rivals. Dude probably wouldn't have made it to the tunnel....
What about the Ravens @ Chargers that time when Rice was way short of the first down and they gave it to them anyways
No, the funny thing was when the Chargers went to Pittsburgh, and somehow got away with another blatant false start, this time by the right tackle, that also resulted in a long Rivers TD pass...I couldn't believe that the same team actually pulled that BS twice!
Bottlegate was the refs screwing the Browns, on the heels of the league screwing the Browns' fans. The perfect shitstorm. It was ugly, but it was 100% caused by the inept NFL officiating crew working in Cleveland that day. Any fans that had endured what the Cleveland fans had up to that point, would have reacted the same way. Those refs almost didn't make it out of the stadium....
