    A little more on him:

PFF had him as the #23 overall prospect in this class. Seems a bit high, but looking at the defensive line, Larry Ogunjobi (my guy) is a free agent after this year. If he doesn't take his level of play up a bit, we'll be replaing him soon anyhow. From a rotation standpoint, Andrew Billings (free agent add from Cincinnati) was our third DT. So at worst, this guy becomes third man in the interior rotation.

Still would have preferred a linebacker, but we've got another pick coming up to get one there. Malik Harrison still on the board...

I'm all about winning the battles in the trenches.

But the run defense has absolutely sucked ass for far too long. In order to win the afcn the browns are going to have to be infinitely better in that phase of the game

Well there's the linebacker we're crying for.
    Solid in pass coverage.
Hopefully he can stuff the run.

    Finally!

Not the name, but most importantly is the position. A lot of Bayou Tigers in Berea now...

Malik Harrison (my guy) goes one pick after to - shock - Baltimore.

Very happy with what we did today. I think Jordan Elliott will turn out to be a stud. I loved the fact we were able to add a 5th rounder and still get Delpit. So far so good with this draft!

I'm just glad that i have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. That way I feel much better this morning when I wake up and look a little closer to see those guys I had hoped they take, and were taken soon after they passed on him... I can just know they are smarter than me and everything will work out in the end ... You know... Like it does every year.

We had a chance to narrow the gap between us and the Ravens and shit our pants.

On paper, it appears they fixed the biggest problem on offense.

Too bad the offense will only be on the field for 15 to 20 minutes a game.

Delpit + Joseph and Sendejo is going to give them some versatility. I do think they should've addressed OLB more diligently, but otherwise they set themselves up well. I'd be willing to bet we see them in a high percentage of nickel packages this year, relative to league average.

Just when through NFL.com to find our remaining draft picks . . .
    • 4-9 (115)
    • 5-15 (160)
    • 6-8 (187)
That's it. Someone want to tell me where all those extra picks we got for trading down went ?

Some how I don't see us in the nickle very often against the Ravens. Maybe a little more often vs the Steelers, but not that much.

My glass that was half empty is starting to tilt towards half full..

I wanted last night to take us to a point where we can start to defend the run like a professional team and, like you said above Lym, on paper the 3rd pick of the draft should actually help us do that.

I was all about wanting certain LBers to shore up this defense, but what if in reality, the players they chose instead will help to shut down the sieve in the middle before it gets to that level? By all accounts, they are choosing players that tackle (except the one that dropped in their lap in the 2nd round, more on that later) proficiently. They chose the leading tackler in the SEC that specializes in run stoppage from that LB position as well as a D-Lineman that led the Tigers with 10 tackles for loss and was a team captain.

Now, we could have looked for, and in my opinion, a more well rounded LB to help fill the gaps lost this offseason, but what they got should slow down the run game in the AFC North.

As for that piss poor tackling Safety they got in the 2nd? Delpit will have plenty of time to heal that high ankle issue that slowed him down just enough to make him drop to the Browns. Before that injury, he was most definitely a solid first round talent.

I know you mention the offensive problem solved with Wills in the first... Well, they didn't JUST take care of the problem, with the additional signing of Conklin, allows Hubbard to compete for RG and this offensive line goes from a MAJOR liability to a MAJOR strength of the team. The jury is definitely out on Wills, no one knows how a rookie will acclimate to the pros, especially when he immediately changes his position. If he is 75% of what we all think he can be, this line will dominate the AFC North. Bitonio, Conklin and Tretter are proven commodities and RG should be the only question mark entering the season. We went from 2 of the 5 strength, to what should be 4 of the 5 a strength...again, I am leaving room for failure in Wills, but if Joe Thomas is as excited about this guy as he is, I am leaning towards finally finding his replacement rather than worrying about that failure.

With two surgeries behind our starting WRs, we should be back to full strength there as well... The addition of Austin Hooper and this team should be ready to become an offensive FORCE.

Remember, I have excuses for last year lol
    • We didn't have Njoku for most of the season (fixed +++++ with the signing of Hooper)
    • Myles Garret missed the final 6 games (fixed)
    • Our offensive line fell apart with Thomas retiring in 2018 and the idiots trading away Zeitler (presumably fixed)
    • We were without Kareem Hunt the first half of the season (fixed)
    • Hollywood was injured coming into the season, then SOMEONE kept him from the field all year...(Not fixed, but they still have time to remedy this as he is still a free agent)

Honestly, right now if they can figure out the LB rotation, we could actually be ok there. I would add another LB today to strengthen the position next year.

I'm starting to like what has been done overall.

Can you say TWO TE SETS about 90% of the time?

That sure gives Baker Mayfield quite the array of pass catching TE's at his disposal....

We now have more TE's (5) on the roster than OLB's (4).

I would add him to my depth chart but I only go out 4 spots.

In all, by moving down in the second they ADD a 5th..by moving down in the 3rd they actually lost a pick in THIS year's draft (7th rounder) but picked up a 2021 3rd.

In all they picked up a 3rd (2021) and 5th (2020) and lost a 7th (2020) in all they GAINED only one pick by moving down and it's next year, but you can also say they moved up from the 7th round to the 5th.

  19. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Our only 5th round pick came from the Colts ???

Yes, our original 5th was traded to the Bills in the package for OG Teller
