For what it's worth... Mayock and Gruden inherited a team that had gone 4-12 and went 7-9 in year one. Sure, it's not the greatest instant turnaround, but they are taking the organization in the right direction. Considering the organization has had only one winning season since Chucky beat his former team in the Superbowl all those years ago, I'd say what they have accomplished so far is noteworthy.
It’s possible you might be overlooking how specific the coach wants to get with bringing in “his guys”. It’s also possible that they just felt the losing culture was too strong in the locker room and wanted the bigger names not to influence the new players
Jeezus, ABC just had the best commercial about being a Bears fan I've ever seen. I'm sitting here drinking a beer thinking, "Yeah, that's why I'm drinking this...".
Jaguars Select K'Lavon Chaisson. I'm a little cold on him so I'm glad the Eagles can't be tempted to take him.
I think it was less about tanking and more about rebuilding what they wanted within the locker room. It's always tough to trade away young talent, but if that player doesn't want to or isn't willing to buy into what the coaches and front office are trying to do, I would rather pull the trigger immediately while their value is still really high. It's one of the things that irritated me with the Bengals last season. We all knew they were moving on from Dalton, Eifert and possibly Green, so deal them immediately while they still hold solid value. Don't wait and watch the return diminish.
Jefferson is still there as are other WRs, LB are there. Safety is there for the picking. They REALLY gotta try hard to piss me off. I'll even take the Penn State DE.
I expect Gross-Matos to come off the board on or before Minnesota's second first round pick. I've had Jefferson pegged to the Eagles for awhile so I'm sticking with it, but with both Queen and Murray still available you could be right about LB.
You can kind of already see Tunsil becoming a headache, just the stuff he’s said. And personally I feel like his play on the field does not match his draft slot, at least consistently. And didn’t they get two 1’s for him?
I had mixed feelings on him as a pure pass rusher, but his versatility was perfect for the Falcons scheme. Would have loved for Atlanta to have grabbed him.
I thought about making a Raegor a riser. But I didn’t have the guts. I do like him though. And Philly is the kind of team that might be able to maximize what he’s able to do
Almost took him as a riser, but in full disclosure it was more because of the same reasons that I had Ruggs as the first receiver off the board. I like Reagor a lot and I have no problem with him going late in the first.
The other WR I though the Eagles would take if they didn't take Jefferson, assuming the rest are gone. This is a good pick, probably my next WR on the board (him or Higgins) but personally I wanted Jefferson.
