    And . . .

Keep in mind (if all 4 tackles are gone by pick 10) they could still move Conklin to LT, keep Hubbard at RT (ugh) and draft a tackle out of the next group still on the board and develop him.

Then again . . . there's always next year. :wall:

    HAPPY DRAFT DAY BROWNS BRETHREN!!

I HATED that pick... I usually defend Browns picks being the homer that I am, but I was pissed off over Coleman.

Unlike @gidion72's secret "because the team wouldn't" love affair with Mahomes, there are receipts of your anti-Coleman position. I remember that well.

The Browns literally could not win in 2016. They took Coleman solely based on athletic potential - flop. They took guys like Emmanuel Ogbah based on NCAA production - flop. The only picks from 2016 that worked out where Rashard Higgins - who we drove off, and Joe Schobert - who we let walk.

And yet, amazingly, not as bad as the year prior:

Rumors are indeed heating up. Browns and Eagles are supposedly the teams most interested in making a move for Trent Williams....

Still think Atlanta ruins my night and trades up with either Arizona or Jacksonville to take Simmons out from under us. Let's us holding the bag and hoping Andrew Thomas falls to us at #10.

I think somebody will make a move for Simmons at #3 or #4...

The only way Simmons is still at #10 is if all 4 tackles are gone, Young, Okudah and Burrow (as in your wet dream) and both Tua and Herbert go as well.

    Possible but not probable.

Keep it going everyone, this is like Christmas. I have been too busy at work to do my draftnik lifestyle justice. But today, I am slacking off just a tad trying to read as much as possible. I woke up with a little extra twinkle in my eye. Can't wait for tonight.

    Quick mock draft for @IrishDawg42...

1.1 Cincinnati - Joe Burrow, QB
1.2 Washington - Chase Young, EDGE
1.3 Miami (f/Detroit) - Tua Tagovailoa, QB (LA moved up last time, let's give him to Miami today)
1.4 New York: Jedrick Wills, OT
    1.5 Detroit (f/Miami): Jeff Okudah
1.6 Los Angeles: Andrew Thomas, OT
    1.7 Carolina: Derrick Brown, IDL
1.8 Atlanta (f/Arizona): Isaiah Simmons, S/LB (*insert frowny face here*)
1.9 New York (f/Jacksonville): Tristin Wirfs, OT. They have to jump Cleveland to get a tackle.
1.10 Denver (f/Cleveland): CeeDee Lamb, WR. Cleveland gets #77 and #83.
1.11 Jacksonville (f/New York): C.J. Henderson, CB Florida.
1.12 Las Vegas: Jerry Jeudy, WR Alabama
1.13 San Francisco: Henry Ruggs III, WR Alabama
1.14 Tampa Bay: Mekhi Becton, OT
1.15 Dallas (f/Cleveland via Denver): K'Lavon Chaisson, EDGE LSU. Cleveland gets #82.
1.16 Arizona (f/Atlanta): Ezra Cleveland, OT. Arizona knows we're looking at Cleveland and an athletic tackle fits with Kingsbury's offense.
1.17 Cleveland (f/Dallas): Justin Jefferson, WR LSU

Trade down, trade down, trade down and pick up a wide receiver. Woo-hoo!!

    Challenge accepted.

    1.1 Cincinnati: Joe Burrow, QB
    1.2 Washington: Chase Young, EDGE
1.3 Miami (f/Detroit): Tua Tagovailoa, QB
1.4 New York: Jedrick Wills, OT
1.5 Detroit (f/Miami): Jeff Okudah, CB
1.6 Los Angeles: Andrew Thomas, OT
    1.7 Carolina: Derrick Brown, IDL
    1.8 Arizona: Tristin Wirfs, OT
1.9 New York(f/Jacksonville): Mekhi Becton, OT Louisville
1.10 Cleveland: Isaiah Simmons, S/LB Clemson

In an effort to out-bid Cleveland for a tackle prospect, they let the second-best player in the Draft fall to Cleveland and we can trade away some mid-round picks this year and next for Trent Williams.

In FACT... I would HAPPILY AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY give up #77 and #83, stay put and take CeeDee or Jerry if they really wanted a WR... Those picks wouldn't even begin to close the gap in receiver depth. You might get lucky with one of the other two picks, but most likely not.

    LOL!!

I mean... we're all sitting here like "there's no way Cleveland takes a wide receiver", but Odell played hurt and will have trade rumors surrounding him until he retires and Landry just had surgery in the offseason that was supposed to keep him out for 4-8 months. We have next-to-nothing behind those guys and while Njoku and Hooper can certainly flex to that slot spot in most formations, we don't have an adequate replacement for either of the Bayou Brothers should injuries creep in.

One: The Odell trade rumors have been consistently and venomately denied by the entire front office. That's probably the first time since the return to the NFL they've all been on the same page.

Two: You do not draft a player in the 1st round to contribute in case of injury. You draft those guys in the middle rounds and develop them.

Agreed... I don't think they'll take a receiver. Just fanning the flames of the on-fire bag of dog-sh*t I left on @IrishDawg42's doorstep.
