CHICAGO BEARS 2.11 Brandon Aiyuk, WR - Arizona State 3.4 J.K. Dobbins, RB - Ohio State 3.15 Netane Muti, G - Fresno State 5.17 Kenny Robinson Jr., S - WVU/XFL 6.17 Lavert Hill, CB - Michigan 6.21 Kalija Lipscomb, WR -Vandy 7.12 Colby Parkinson, TE - Stanford 7.19 Joe Bachie, LB - Michigan State Considering all Chicago had to start with were two 2nd rounders, 2 6th rounders and 2 7th's, I think this worked out quite well. I was planning from the very beginning to trade down with one of my second rd picks and recoup some draft capital. After drafting Aiyuk, I put it out there that Chicago would consider moving down from 2.18, and I was getting plenty of offers. Denver had the best one by far, and even though it was requiring me to drop further than I wanted, I was just about to accept it when Memphisking mentioned on the thread that Jets would deal two 3rds (3.4 and 3.15) for OTC pick. DEAL! lol! I was ecstatic with that trade, even though it was difficult for me to pass on Dobbins at 2.18. I expected Tampa to select him before 2.18, and it threw me for a loop that he was still there, but I had to do what was right for the Bears...Then the inexplicable slide happened and I somehow wound up getting J.K. anyway at 3.4! I couldn't believe it. Hands down, the way that worked out, it was one of the best deals I've ever made. I also thought pretty good value on Muti, Robinson Jr., Hill and Colby Parkinson....
Funny thing happened recently. In our mock drafts the Steelers have selected Jonathan Taylor each time with their first pick. Tomlin must have noticed that and had a FaceTime call with him. I got a feeling that he is our target this draft. We might even trade up as Lyman did in the GMO.
Self awareness is a good thing, and your 20/20 hindsight on Mahomes is noted. FTR; the Browns took the concencsus #1 in 2017, stud DE Myles Garrett, and then 8 other NFL teams passed on Mahomes, which you seem to be completely oblivious to. Had the Browns passed on Garrett, there would have been riots in the streets. Anybody can cherry pick a draft two years later, gid. lol!.... The Browns got a great player at the top of that draft. If you wanna be a dick to some team's fans, the Bears took Trubisky. The Bengals took John Ross. Either way, it's still going to make you look like an ass, if you jump on them about it, but at least it'll make more sense.
You didn’t even get the best pass rusher in the draft as TJ Watt was in consideration for DPOY. Where was Garret? At White Castle looking for Harold and Kumar
If the Browns passed on Garrett and you guys got Mahomes how many of you would be crying right now? Garrett is going to fade now after he went after Rudolph. He should save face and retire. His false accusations are going to get him killed, because the players around the league can’t stand a player who lies about another in such a way that would ruin the others integrity. Garrett is marked for knock out by oline men every where
Re: UDFA round There is no way I'm staying up until 11:30pm to pick an UDFA. There is also no way I'm going to give you (RTTRUTH or LAOJOE) a list of 15 - 20 players that you have to go through to see who's been taken. I might just roll the dice and pick two players the following morning.
That is fine. There are no autos in UDFA until we lock them at midnight tomorrow so people can do the value challenge.
Does the UDFA schedule follow a strict timetable ? If I come on at 9:55 for the chiefs I make my pick even if 5 guys in front of me haven’t right? Probably they would still be cleaning the French fries out of the bottom of the bag.
Correct. When your time arrives it is your turn, regardless of how many people didn't pick before you
What if the person in front of you makes their pick, do you have to wait the 5 minutes before you pick
That's usually the way I do it too. There usually isn't one guy I just HAVE to have for my practice squad.
