I'm looking at a tentative start date of Monday, May 11th, at 6:30pm. Same rules as previous years apply.
Feeling pretty good about my roster and lack of glaring needs this off-season. Always room to improve here and there, but after making more moves in 2019 than I have in any other season I’m comfortable with having no first round pick.
I have a lot of young pieces. If they hit their potential, I have a shot at the playoffs. I gotta mail my early picks this year though.
As odd as this might sound, I may be due for a bit of regression this year. So much can change in one off-season. Depending what happens with Todd G, and there’s a new coach with McCaffrey, new QB with my top 2 WRs. Just have to wait and see how all this stuff is going to play out. I will add this; on the one hand I respect you bold F*cks for trading your upper echelon players and higher draft picks. On the other hand I think you’re nuts. I have never traded, and likely never will trade my first round pick away. The simple reason is knowing myself. If I traded my first away, and came up anything short of a championship, that shit would eat me up from the day I didn’t win until after the next draft. I’d lose sleep
This is going to be my 4th draft and I will finally be selecting a RB in the 1st round. I’m sure I’ll draft the guy who gets hurt every year.
Very true up until last year. He finally got a good one with Jacobs. I have Corey Davis, Trey Burton, and Parris Campbell to show for my 1st rounders.
lol It came down to being forced into a couple bold moves or else slowly watching the rest of my conference stack talent while I hoped to have something slide to the back half of the first for maybe a couple more years. I was able to turn a player into a late first, pair that with another player for a trade, then trade away my original first all to rebuild my entire outlook at RB with a couple new faces. It also included shipping out some players from the RB room to go and get a new talent at WR.
Ive got plenty of good drafting to do and sorely miss having a 1st rounder. Been looking for that elusive RB2 and I hope the Bears Montgomery will work for me this year. My draft absolutely depends on what happens in front of me and that scares me, lol. Hope I get a little 'draft luck'.
If it makes you feel any better Will, I feel like I got some for a couple years there when I was picking 12th. Didn’t expect Courtland Sutton or Hockenson to reach me those couple years, but they did. Matter of fact, if any of you remember me trying to trade up to your spots last year it was for Hockenson. Considering my lack of depth, paired with his talent, I actually had him ranked third of the entire class for what I wanted. I had Montgomery Jacobs Hockenson I was ecstatic when he rolled to 12.
Hockenson was a perfect fit in Detroit with the departure of Ebron. If Stafford can stay healthy, Hockenson is going to be a terror. Your right , RT... you never really know how things unfold... whether its the pick you take or just the NFL circumstances that arrive.
I'm in a weird position. I don't know if my team gets stronger or weaker with all the moves. I don't need quantity at least. I've got one 1st and it lies in what I think is a good spot. Hitting on AJ Brown last year was big (rip StlCrtn and Davis). I'm glad no one wanted to trade up or I might have whiffed just to grab assets. He was my #1 WR too so I dunno why I was getting stupid. The only offer I got defeated the purpose of a trade down for assets. I'd rather take Brown than what was offered. I think it was RT but he had a better than nothing offer.
