We are dodging salary cap hell and more mediocrity with the Bridgewater thing.

    We DO NOT WANT HIM.

Sure, he performed well when Brees was out. But.. that’s with one of the top offensive lines in football. PFF and Football Outsiders had the New Orleans o line ranked 5th and 1st respectively, and Chicago ranked 25th and 29th.

Not to mention the fact that NO had one of the best running attacks and statistically the best receiver in football.

Over his short career, Bridgewater has been inaccurate, inconsistent and was nowhere near as mobile as Mitch is even before he destroyed his knee.

Dalton or Cam? Or do we pass on both?

    I really don’t want either

Same... oh well... it's only QB hell. We've been here for 30 years.

None of the above. I firmly believe that Mitch can be more than adequate given a solid offensive line and the proper game plan (i.e. run the fuckin’ ball).

Not only that, the names mentioned are washed the fuck UP. And some of them weren’t even that good in their prime.

And Cam? He is the exact opposite of what this offense needs. Inaccurate, poor decisions, etc. no way.

    3/$63M - Teddy Bridgewater.

    WOW.

    Great idea Carolina. You’re fucked.

Same. Not too often you find a guy cut by a ton of teams with some speed and brains. I remember teams picked on him last year and it didn't work. For 3.5 mil I would have matched, but I guess Jimmy Graham is that more important...

This, but with an addendum. Do not let Tarik Cohen run the ball. Get a real running back to pair with Monty.

Its pathetic that I have to clarify this. But No, NOT Mike Davis.

Dion Lewis just got cut by the Titans and was a fantastic 2 way RB in New England before their backfield got crowded with Sony Michele and James White. He didn't play in Tennessee, because Derrick Henry.

Or draft/find a guy. You had Raheem Mostert before he starting running over everybody in San Francisco. A solid OLine can make most RBs with the exception of Trent Richardson look great and helps when you actually have to pass.

Yeah I can buy not loving Kyle Allen. I can buy a brand new coach starting with a newly drafted QB.

I could buy if they were in draft hell, but they pick 7th overall next month. No, that's not getting Tua or Burrow, but they can still get a guy or move down and pick a Justin Herbert or Jacob Eason if they really want.

But 21 mil for Teddy B...ouch. When I find myself saying "well at least its not Jared Goff money," it still doesn't shed a pretty light.

Very curious. Trey Burton and a few others could generate some cap space, but dead money would have to be spread out.

Apparently we are the odds on favorite to land Cam, most likely through a trade. Really don't want Pace to trade any more draft capital on yet another washed up player.

    Nick Foles. Details to come.

Damn, right after my Cam post.

Please better not have traded anything higher than a 3rd rounder.

  13. Bear-man 11 Franchise Player Bears

Oh Lord no. Not even Pace is that retarded.

I can live with that trade actually. Not that I expect Foles to be any good, but at least Pace didn't blow his load on him.

    I hate it.

Apparently the trade is only costing you guys your 4th rd compensation pick. That is a very good trade for the Bears. If he can stay healthy and beat Tribs for the job you guys could have a very good season ahead of you.

For the price I can definitely live with it. And now Mitch has real competition. Not that this makes us a better team though.

I told myself I'd give any new QB time to prove whether he could do it here in Chicago. Same chance I'm giving Nagy to re-work his offense. If they can't do it this year, then Pace, Nagy, and every QB should be gone.

The fact that they didn't just stick with Mitch means they're at least trying, so I'll give them the chance. I don't know anything about Foles' contract, though, and how it affects years beyond this one.

That's my issue. I don't really see how this makes us better.

Foles is like Brian Griese basically. But with a ring.

Believe the numbers were 4 years 88 million with 50 million guaranteed. Jax have paid 30.5 already to him. According to Sportrac, Foles is due 15.6 mil in 2020, 20.6 mil in 2021, and 20.7 mil in 2022.

Essentially a 1 year rental with guaranteed money owed, some potential to keep.
