Capt Kirk a 49ers that's interesting cause it could work, they have a much better O-line so he won't be under pressure all the damn time good rb's and receivers, kinda scary when you think about it they have a very good defense
Britton Colquitt signed a one-year deal with the Vikings last September after being cut by the Browns and he’s not interested in heading anywhere else this season. It doesn’t appear the Vikings are interested in parting ways with him either. Colquitt told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press that he expects to re-sign with the team before the start of free agency, but after the results of the players’ vote on the proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement has wrapped up. Colquitt said that his agent has spoken to the team about a three-year deal with guaranteed money over the first two seasons. He’s not certain of the financial terms, but said they are within parameters that work for the team. “My agent came up with a deal that is not outlandish and crazy, but it also puts me in a category of what we feel like I’ve earned,” Colquitt said. “[The Vikings] haven’t given us an offer. They’ve just accepted the proposal and said, ‘You know, we think that’s a fair deal. We just have to figure out where we can make some space.'” Colquitt was the Vikings’ fourth punter in as many years. He had a net average of 42.6 yards per kick last season. NBC
It was a rumor talk it was on the google website i thought it was interesting looking at what Capt Kirk did with very suspect O-line and the 49ers O-line is pretty good just made me think about it
Cool. I think the o-line will be better this season and with a healthy run game Cousins should be better also. Will be interesting with Kubiak having full control of the offense.
Enough of Diggs and his stupid games do you want to be a Vikings you need clear yes or no these games are getting old,i expect him to be traded at the draft
Surprisingly, he made the Pro Bowl last year. Not surprisingly, he’ll now be available to make the Pro Bowl with a new team. Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes has been released, according to Mike Tannenbaum of ESPN.com. Rhodes was due to make $9.9 million in salary in 2020. Cutting him consumes $4.8 million in cap space, but it creates a net cap gain of $7.5 million for the cap-strapped Vikings. One of three first-round picks by the Vikings in 2013 (the others were Sharrif Floyd and Cordarrelle Patterson), Rhodes became a cornerstone of the defense under coach Mike Zimmer, who arrived in 2014. Rhodes parlayed his performance into a long-term deal in 2017, which will be torn up with three years remaining. Rhodes, who turns 30 in June, seemed to repeatedly find his way into Zimmer’s doghouse last year after becoming a liability at times in coverage. Given his salary, he had been an obvious target for release.
What took so long Xavier Rhodes should have been cut long time ago ( after he got paid he went downhill ) oh well the Vikings finally did it,Linval Joseph the Vikings cut him also just hope they have a game plan for his replacement in FA or the draft
Thanks, Baddman on the report of Linval Joseph being cut. I hadn't heard that one yet. Vikings creating some Cap space and they appear to not be messing around. Its about time.
I was listening to Purple Daily the Vikings are in a bad way Tricky Ricky your job is on line here,Mike Zimmer ( i don't get the man mystery act ) i think it's time for him to go he's always getting out coached man what a mess this is
Soon-to-be free agent safety Jayron Kearse has played his entire career in Minnesota, but he appears to be done with the Vikings. Kearse wrote on Twitter that he doesn’t want to stay in Minnesota. When a fan tweeted that Kearse would want to return to the Vikings, Kearse replied, “No jayron doesn’t want to come back.” The Vikings also may not want Kearse back. He pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated last month, and he’s likely to be suspended to start the season. The team may have decided to move on, and that may have motivated Kearse to say he wants to move on as well. Last year Kearse played 25 percent of the Vikings’ defensive snaps and 53 percent of their special teams snaps. He is scheduled to become a free agent on Wednesday. NBC
Anthony Harris would be real nice if he stays with the Vikings, this talk of a Kirk Cousin extension is kinda crazy why can't they find a QB and a descent back-up QB how much money does Capt Kirk want cause the money being thrown around is CRAZY maybe it's time to kick him to the curb,i'm scared Tricky Ricky will make a dumb move
WOW the Vikings Anthony Harris won't go to FA they slapped the franchise tag on him,now make a long term deal and PAY the MAN ( NFL.com )
Vikings now should extend Mike Zimmer, Rick Spielman, Dalvin Cook After the 2019 season ended, there was an argument to be made that the Vikings should decline to give extensions to any of the four key figures entering the final year of their contracts: Quarterback Kirk Cousins, coach Mike Zimmer, G.M. Rick Spielman, and running back Dalvin Cook. Now that the Vikings have extended Cousins, they need to go the rest of the way. The fresh three-year commitment to Cousins makes it impractical to change coaches or front offices. It also represents an endorsement of what the Vikings are doing with Cousins on the team. To keep doing it, they’ll need Zimmer and Spielman and, perhaps most importantly, Cook. The fourth-year running back is eligible for a new deal and quite possibly will play hardball to get one before assuming the ongoing injury risk that comes from running through and around large, strong, fast men. Basically, the decision to extend Cousins means that the Vikings will keep doing what they’ve been doing for three more years. That means they need to keep doing it with the guys who’ve been doing it, and it would be a surprised if they’re already working on doing those deals. NBC
Extend Dalvin Cook not Tricky Ricky this guy just won't go away and Mike Zimmer is always getting out coached, i just wonder will it be the same old same old i really hope not i keep saying this time to be one the elite teams in the NFL,because being good sometimes is not good enough
This time, Stefon Diggs is serious. The Vikings receiver left no doubt about what his “it’s time for a new beginning” meant after facing pushback from a Twitter user. “Every time Stefon Diggs gets butt hurt he posts some ominous tweet about new beginnings or change,” said @zack_a9. “Then we get report ‘Minnesota has no intention of trading Diggs’ and he posts himself in Vikings uniform hugging a teammate or something. Relax Pats fans, he’s just a drama queen.” Responded Diggs: “Nah this ain’t one of them times champ. Something’s going to happen.” So there it is. And now we wait to see what it is and where he goes. NBC
What the hell is he talking about now these twitter games are getting old FAST do want to be on this football team, this diva act or drama queen whatever this is very tiring as a Vikings fan
News Flash Diggs is a Buffalo Bill the diva has been traded but i can't help stop thinking is this what he really wanted, cause he's not a 1.no receiver well i think the Vikings got Bills 22 pick well he's the Bills headache now they can find another wide receiver, but the news of the day De Andre Hopkins to the Cardinals poor De Shaun Watson ( sp ) had to be a punch to the gut
I’m in Portugal and not really following that closely. I’ll just post my reaction as a Bills fan, and then speculate on the Vikings perspective. Buffalo is clearly in the “go for it” stage, but lacked enough weapons for young Josh Allen. My initial reaction (after surprise) was delight. Diggs is a great talent, and I believe he’ll be received (small pun intended) well by his teammates. I suspect that the Bills Mafia will embrace him, and that can make a player feel very wanted. (Look at G, Q. Spain, who resigned because he wanted to stay in Buffalo more than he wanted more money.) I can see how Diggs theatrics were more than frustrating for the Vikes. Still, while I question his methods, I don’t see him as being a complete diva. He wanted out - for some reason - I think there’s a problem with your QB. Unfortunately the Vikes are taking a step (or two) back this offseason. The return was good (you traded a lesser talent for more return than what Houston just got) and that’s a kick start to the rebuild. In the end, it looks like a trade that meets the needs of both sides. It’s a heluva lots better for the Bills compared to their attempt to obtain that reprobate AB from PIT a year ago. Time will tell, but I expect Diggs will thrive in Buffalo. Therefore, people will consider the Bills the winner of this trade. But the Vikings did very well under the circumstances and I suspect the fans are ready to turn the page.
