Fair enough...I don't think anyone ever looked at it as an "attack". Seemed a bit insensitive to me, considering how this thing is rolling along, but at this point, I wish I had never got involved.....Live and learn.
Please Note: All RFA, ERFA and tagged players have been moved to the "Signed" tab. I had apparently made this harder than it needs to be. Moving forward . . . there will be no "Awarded" tab. If the 48 hour clock has passed with no new bids, and the high bidder hasn't posted that the player has been signed - then the Status column will simply say "Awarded".
Sorry, I missed this. After Raiders were overbid, we decided to go a different direction. I don't want two free agent QB's, so I think a rescind in this situation is perfectly acceptable..... Raiders rescind on Phillip Rivers $12,000,000 Previous bid (JAX) $6,000,000
SEATTLE BIDS Leonard Williams DE (NYG) $8,000,000 PREVIOUS BID MIAMI Leonard Williams DE (NYG) $7,000,000
DENVER BIDS Trae Waynes CB (MIN) $7,000,000 PREVIOUS BID NEW YORK JETS Trae Waynes CB (MIN) $6,000,000
# # # IMPORTANT NOTICE # # # Tier 2 bidding starts tomorrow, 3/12/20 @ 8:00am. Opening bids will no longer be required to be $6M minimum.
I'm very sorry for not being here at the beginning. We has a surprise change at work and I had to immediately move and set up and staff a new office. As soon as I can take a look at everything I will begin to participate.
Even though I was guilty of it, I agree. I mean, we do this to have fun...but we're also (supposedly) being a GM and constructing a team as WE see fit. Should have a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, and not just spray buckshot in all directions.
Sometimes it's unavoidable. Like in my cases with Phillip Rivers and Riley Reiff. In both situations, I was overbid by a large amount. So I changed to a different free agent target at the same position. Then the team that had originally overbid me on my first target rescinds and the leading bid reverts back to me after I've already moved on. What choice does a GM have in that situation?
This is the exact reason why we are discussing rescinds. You're situation was forced to change because of a bad faith bid. You had to adjust your strategy based on information that was ultimately false through no fault of your own.
