What are the rules for contract extensions...? Sorry if I missed it posted earlier.

 

Look on page 1 of this thread. Same as restructuring except select "Extension" on the OTC drop down tool.

edit: I mean in real life it is difficult. But for the purposes of this, yes.

In the GMO exercise, yes, it is possible.

In the real world - they would probably look to extend the contract and push money into future years. But we don't have future years. This is probably the biggest unsolved fallacy of the current GMO.

 

I think that's where I get confused. When I try to restructure a player in final year of deal at (OTC), no numbers come up at all. Just says savings: $0.....I don't see how this can help your salary cap.
