Sorry if this has been answered before or is somewhere else but I have a few questions about the transition tag. Are the basics that any team can offer more than the original tag and don't have to give up any compensation if the original team then don't decide to match it? Are all offers exclusively for one year deals? (I know it doesn't matter specifically for this exercise but still interesting)

 

Easy one first: Yes, all offers (for GMO purposes) are considered 1 year deals.

Transition Tags do not carry compensation for the tagging team whereas Franchise Tags do.
