I think the biggest difference is how quickly this one spread to the amount of people and how far and wide it went. A lower death rate, I think the economic damage globally will be worse with this current one. Hopefully it will burn out by May, in the meantime the next six weeks could be deadly all around.

On its website, the CDC stated it would update it's stats daily but hasn't updated the number of U.S. cases in several days. Their last was 60 cases and 6 deaths. The map of U.S. cases on says "Cases:Yes" in several states without the number of cases reported. This is the CDC, so I hardly think this is an oversight on their part. Pretty sure the Trump administration has "scrubbed" this official site like they have to quite a few others. In this case, it's obviously to lessen the PR blow of this epidemic on the White House. Can't believe I'm glad for the "click-bait" news articles that will continue to keep the public up to date.........All the while being called "fake news" during their reporting.
According to CNBCs live update page on CDC numbers, At least 108 confirmed cases in the US, and 93,400 worldwide At least 9 dead in the US. Notice they say, "at least." Between China, Iran and this administration, the publics trust level is very low as far as the actual numbers are concerned. *Now 127 in the US*

Why no audo? So now people have to read about it? Why not make the info as easy and accessible as possible? How about that 50 year old Manhattan attorney that commutes to work from his home in New Rochelle? He's now in critical condition, a father of four.
No video and no audio makes everything deniable. No evidence except what was written down.......but you know, fake news, a hoax put forth by the Democrats and the media.
In fairness....a lot of briefings get held off camera and there were 3 on camera briefings about the virus this week. Gotta stay clear of the spin from both sides. This virus shouldn't be political....but of course it is because welcome to America.
To me it sounds like they let Donald spout off anything he wants and they don't want to contradict him. And at the same time, they are suppressing info. It all appears to be managing their image first rather than managing the impending crisis.
Fair enough, but they have still scrubbed the CDC site's updates and the virus council is off the record too??? I'm not making it a conspiracy theory when I have previous data on how this administration tends to operate.....And then repeatedly changes the story after the fact, if need be.
It should be transparent....I agree. But the democrats and trying to use the virus to their advantage in voting season and it's an equal wrong on their part. Trump is f'n moron. He ran his mouth on how this wasn't a big deal and how well he handled it...and is now shitting his pants because he wasn't educated on this or didn't listen when his advisers tried to educate him.
