Remember . . . to earn a credited season - a player only has to be at full pay status. Players on IR or the practice squad can earn a credited season without even getting a helmet on Sundays.

I know IR can count (shortcoming of using ProFootballReference to count seasons).
Does Practice Squad count? I honestly have no idea

The only requirement I could find to have a season count as a CS is that a player has to receive full pay for 3 weeks in a given season. As Practise Squad players get paid (I assume in full) that would qualify.

The practice squad is specifically excluded from determining accrued seasons per the CBA, actually. (ref Article 8 Section 1)

Johnson was on the Texans’ roster for 7 weeks in 2018 though he was only active for 1 game.

Okay. So pro football reference just dropped the ball on that one. They report it as 1 week

Excluded from determining accrued and Credited seasons?

  7. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

Yes. Ref Article 26 Section 2

Also note time on IR counts toward accrued seasons but not credited seasons.

  8. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

They’re only counting the 1 game he actually dressed for, apparently.

    Thanks for that. Pretty obvious.

Not at all what I was referencing, but whatever....Evidently I can't get my question across, so screw it. Not important. I won't do any restructures.

If you want @TopDawg I can walk you through how to figure out a restructure on OTC.?

I already had to figure it out to “restructure” Jalen Ramsey

Read my original question RT....I don't need walked through anything

To be fair, I think how you worded it originally might have confused some people.

But to answer your question - yes, only players with two or less years remaining on their contracts are eligible for restructuring.

    No shit! lol!

I still don't see how I twisted everyone up on that,,,,,

I think it was the part about contracts ending at the end of this year with 2 years remaining.

No big deal, and so long as everyone continues to work with each other like they have so far everything will be copacetic.

I think I understand the reason for your consternation. IRL , NFL teams would never attempt to restructure contracts of players with only 1 or 2 years remaining on their contract because, unlike the GMO, they actually have to eventually deal with the consequences of pushing the cap savings into future years.

    IF
the GMO was set up like a Dynasty League in FFB, and the same participants returned every year and started a new year with the same roster and contracts with which they ended the prior year, they would have to eat the cap savings as dead money if they didn't sign the player they restructured. Unfortunately, that structure for the GMO simply isn't feasible.

    Question on the "SFA" players...

The league has that international program where guys from other countries are attached to NFL practice squads for a season. Basically the same as back in the old days of NFL-E - those players can't be signed to the main roster or signed away by any other team or released from the practice squad. They don't count towards the limit of practice squad players (it's an extra spot), and the year doesn't count against their potential future practice squad eligibility.

Tight end prospect Alex Gray was assigned to the Falcons that way. He's now on the free agent list as "SFA".

But he's not important. Here's the question...

Does anyone know if all of the other guys marked as "SFA" were also the foreign exchange students? Or do we have other situations with that designation that might actually matter?

If we do, we should figure out what the heck "SFA" means and what the rules are for those players.

Torgo...........wrong guy to ask because I have NO idea WTF I'm doing........lol......I'm going in early to predict I'm going to be in LAST place.

That’s the beauty of this exercise man, there is no last place or first place. You build your off-season the way you see fit, and as far as you’re concerned, at the end you’re in first place
