Sorry, I can’t get around asking anymore.
When I look up Mike Ford, he has played two seasons in the NFL.
So my question is, what does CS stand for?
    Is Will wrong saying 1?

I’m just trying to make sure when I list my tags that I’m crediting guys with the right amount of seasons and paying them properly.

    @Willie
    @Lyman

I have since figured out cs stands for “credited seasons”.
I believe that’s any season they appeared in 3+ games

  3. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

I probably am wrong, i'll straighten it out.

  4. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

Quick bit of research shows me that a credited season is 3+ games.

An accrued season is 6+ games at full pay status.
    @Willie

So I believe both your guys would just be two seasons instead of one

    LIONS TAGS

    Mike Ford, CB - ERFA
    2cs - $685,442

    Dee Virgin, CB - ERFA
    2cs - $685,442

    Total Cost - $1,370,884

OTC has seasons for Virgin and Ford listed as 2 apiece, so that does change the numbers.

That is correct. Im really screwing up here.... my apologize.

No worries. I knew all these things the first year we did this. I have since forgotten most of it too.

I can’t remember what we needed accrued seasons for the first year. I think it’s for veteran minimum salaries.

There was a debate in the past about exclusive versus non-exclusive franchise tags.
    Complicated stuff really

For some reason, the NFL uses "Credited Seasons" for ERFA and "Accrued Seasons" for just about every other free agent calculation. I'm sure there is some logic behind it but I'm damned if I can figure it out.

Regarding Mike Ford . . . He has two (2) Accrued Seasons (6 or more games). So, if he has 2 Accrued Seasons, he has to have at least 2 Credited Seasons. He entered the NFL as an UDFA in 2018 so it makes sense he has 2 credited seasons.

Eureka! They use Credited Seasons to account for Practice Squad players when determining ERFA salary.

I just want to make sure I'm understanding the restructure process properly.
If he has less than 2 years, then that would mean he's a free agent after this season, thus making a restructure impossible, correct?

So unless I'm misinterpreting, the only players eligible for a contract restructure are players that have contracts that run through 2021.

For the purposes of this exercise, you can restructure anyone with two or less years (so 1 or 2) remaining. We might assume it’s an extension, or a restructure, but as long as it’s two or less years, it’s allowable.

That said, it is tougher to get the numbers from OTC if it isn’t actually a restructure

A player with one year left on his contract would not be a free agent until 2021.

God will get you for that, too. Go stand in line next to @TopDawg .

Really neither of those should surprise you.
Pretty sure he’ll be re-signed by us within 1-2 weeks

So the RL team will get a discount probably on what it’s costing me here

Anyone know why Roderick Johnson is listed as an RFA and not ERFA?

Been in league 2 years. Only actually has 1 credited season (played only 1 game the first year)

  17. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

    TEXANS

    ERFA
    WR DeAndre Carter ($685,442)

  18. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

    RAMS

    ERFA
    Josh Carraway ($526,000)
    Coleman Shelton ($605,739)
    Johnny Mundt ($685,442)

    Total: $1,817,181

    Don't really know.

He actually was drafted in 2017 in the 5th round by the Browns. If I recall, he spent his rookie year on IR and then was released. That would give him 1 CS.

In 2018 and 2019 he only had to be on the 49ers and Texans' active roster for 3 games each year to get his 2nd and 3rd CS even if he didn't play a snap.

  20. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

Sure, but pro football reference is only crediting him with one season beyond that year with the Browns. Literally doesn’t show even one game elsewhere.

But regardless, for how bad the Texans blocking was last year, I’m going to assume he’s not worth the $2,000,000 + it would cost to keep him and will not tender him

    edit: Best guess is
    2017 IR with CLE
    2018 IR with HOU
    2019 Actually played with HOU
