With or without Myles Garrett - Goober would still have fucked up the past season. Time to move on, Sammy.

Derek Carr threw it away on fourth down in his fifth season... he's just a guy. Pretty sure he's a free agent, too.

Oh yeah, 2019 is dead and buried for me. It's to clear Myles' good name. And Roger has a bad history with damaging tapes.

Myles will clear his own name by continuing to be the man he is on and off the field without a repeat of this incident. The only person he has to answer to is himself.

He just re-signed a couple seasons ago for big money, which makes him damn near impossible to trade. Carr actually won't be a free agent until 2023...That said, I agree that he's "just a guy". I represented the Raiders in the GMO last year and I couldn't get Carr moved in that exercise, but I drafted Haskins anyway because I felt the upgrade was too good to pass up.

Carr's cap number is $21,000,000. Dead Money = $7,900,000. Theoretically, they could just cut him and save $13 600,000. But then they would need to find a QB - somewhere.

    (FWIW - Kaepernick is available)

Oh man, I completely forgot about that! Good for him getting that money.

I guess you can (almost) rule out them trading for Burrow.

....but Derek Carr has an incredible completion percentage every year....:FAP:

Yeah, IMO if they were gonna make a move at QB, Mayock would have done it last year when they were sitting right there at #4...But who knows? They are still loaded up from the Mack and Cooper trades. Maybe Las Vegas Raiders can make magic happen.

(i know it's a Browns thread, but since we don't have cheerleaders I figured wth)

There is no way the Bengals pass on Burrow...No way.

Pretty sure I'd like to see us go "all in" on the offensive line in free agency, maybe even to the point where we can consider other options in round one...

    such as;

basically, just peel that little paw off his helmet and he's ready to rock!

Don't get me wrong....I understand that as it is right now, we gotta go O-line. Seems the only real question is, do we go to Georgia, Alabama or Iowa to get our guy?

The only way I can see us going after Simmons is if we signed a couple big time o-lineman in free agency. Conklin, Baluga, Scherff, Williams, something like that.

I hear a lot of talking heads saying they think Garret is lying.

Big surprise: the guys making their millions don't want to accuse the NFL of covering a race issue up quietly. They aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them. I'm just pointing out: there is no upside in allowing that to become public, for the NFL.

Higgins? I honestly don't know how to feel about Hollywood. He was terrific in 18, nearly invisible in 19. He got into Freddie's or Dorsey's doghouse and never got out.

I seem to hear a lot about Higgins and Njoku being trade bait or at least guys who we can upgrade from, and I don't really get that either.

I can understand if we had guys better, but in the case of Higgins, we are talking about the 3rd guy, aren't we? I think he's a pretty good option 3 WR.

I don't really understand the Njoku thing at all. As a TE he could be a Gronk kind of guy IMO. He needs to take blocking a lot more seriously, but as a recieving TE, I think his upside is pretty damn high.

Am I just being nostalgic for 2018, or is there something I'm missing?

Agree. There's not a lot in the cupboard behind Ward and Williams. The nickle could be an adventure.

Nope, you're just recapping some of the reasons why Dorsey was let go. He had final say over the active gameday roster and kept guys like Higgins and Njoku sidelined because the wrong guy drafted him.

2018 Njoku produced 56 receptions, 639 yards, 4 TDs -- good for 8th, 8th, and t-6th among tight ends. He's without a doubt already a Top 10 tight end in the league and has room to improve.

Dorsey packed the tight end room full of "his" guys (Demetrius Harris, Stephen Carlson, Pharaoh Brown, and Ricky Seals-Jones), despite a Top 10 player in the wing and on a team that need to run heavy 21 personnel (two backs, one tight end). The broken hand was an unfortunate circumstance, but *ALL* those guys were on the roster ahead of the injury and Dorsey took that as an opportunity to move on from one of the previous regime's players.

*5th, 5th, and 4th in the AFC which includes the current best TE in the NFL (Kelce) and included Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski

I'll make the unpopular opinion -

The Browns need to go after another CB in this draft and look to move Ward inside more often than not.

I'd prefer to see Denzel shadow smaller, quicker receivers. It's a better match-up for him physically and he has the feet to remove that kind of option from an offense.
