Kevin Stefanski thought this would be a week for studying coaching & management personnel, but ..... Odel happened.

Following the National Championship game, Odel, an LSU grad, goes wild with excitement, and gets charges with "simple assault" (slapping a police officer on the butt).

Kevin, the kids are acting up. Do something!

Oh yeah, Welcome to the team.

Between this and the "Fat Baker" takes, as well as Terez Owens story about his "porn addiction", it's been a wild 48 hours.

    Just win.

Did he have to bail Odell out

Odell's butt slap and make it rain antics, seem to have fallen into the media blizzard of the NFL playoffs. Thank God.

Odell's penchant for drawing attention is legend, and annoying. The butt slap is stupid, but just doesn't rise to a level of criminal (maybe different if it were a female officer).

The handing out of money "publicly" would have caused a lot more attention 10 years ago, when we as a public didn't want to talk about college players living in relative poverty while the school rakes in the money on their backs. Now that issue is openly talked about, and this incident only amplifies it.

As a Browns fan, I wish Odell learned discretion, but he is who he is, and this won't be the last thing he does to embarass himself. Still I have to say he's been a "good soldier" as a team mate in Cleveland.

It would be a lot easier to forgive or forget, if his on field contributions off set his distractions, but again, it is what it is, and don't expect him to change (much).

Frankly, had this happened in a quieter media cycle, it would have been news for days, and Stefanski & co. would have taken question after question on it, but mercifully it hasn't risen to that point, thus giving Stefanski & co. a pass, for the most part.

    Now about that staffing thing..............

After his heart-to-heart with Odell, he'll have to have a sit down with Kareem (Bl)Hunt...

Good news, he wasn't cited for the marijuana (thanks unenforceable Ohio possession laws!), so the league shouldn't get involved.

That said, it's a Cleveland Browns player, so he's probably looking at an indefinite suspension with no appeal until mid-season.

    Truth.

How long do you think Roger is going to keep Myles Garrett wondering when (or if) he'll ever get to play again?

Goodell is scheduled to meet Garrett within the next 60 days to discuss his assault with a deadly weapon.

Leadership! Do we have it in the building?

Garrett, Beckham, Hunt, Mayfield, Robinson: quite a handful for Coach Stefanski.

IMO Mayfield and Beckham have leadership capabilities, that need to be channeled, or they will undermine the team. Garret needs discipline, he's not going to be a leadership guy from all indications. Robinson probably just needs to be gone. Hunt? I don't know what to make of him. He needs to become a man, not unlike Gordon, and I don't know if he can do that. If he's stop drawing negative attention, he'd make great trade bait, but....

Landry. Now there is a leader! Chubb is a saint, but I don't think he wants anything to do with taking a leadership role, with the clear exception of his actions, both on and off field which are exemplary.

Many challenges ahead, beyond the field. Again, welcome to Cleveland, Mr Stefanski.

Getting an alleged blow job in the back seat of your SUV would certainly be considered consensual.

On the other hand . . . Banging a drunken co-ed on the floor of the shitter in a college town bar in Georgia might raise some questions.
