I don't know. Some scouts around the league right now are drawing up Steve Young comparisons for Hill. Ability to run and be utilized similar to Lamar Jackson. Older than Bridgewater but without injuries. The only knock on the guy right now is he's Mormon. But hey....so is Young.
The Taysom Hill thing is all hearsay. I don’t think anyone is going after him. I know it’s been fun to watch, but as a gimmick and with the most creative offensive coach in the league. And even then he has run more than he’s passed. He’s not a real quarterback. You’d be better served making him an H-back and letting him perfect one position at this point. At least that’s my opinion
Tom Brady - Leaves Ryan Tannehill - Stays Marcus Mariota - Don’t care Philip Rivers - retires Eli Manning - retires Case - Don’t care Dak Prescott - stays Drew Brees - stays Teddy Bridgewater - Goes to Indy Jameis Winston - Gets arrested Edit: Want Teddy B to start somewhere. There’s 2-4 QBs in this draft I’d rather have, but wouldn’t be upset if we gave him a 2-3 year deal commensurate with what he’s earned ($23/year ?)
I don't disagree but there are some QB thirsty teams out there and when you don't have one you lay awake all night thinking about it. Hill hasn't thrown the ball much at all and he may not be a capable NFL passer...but his other skills might make him attractive to someone.
Potentially. But even if it isn’t a great year for QBs in the draft, there’s also Mariota, there’s also Teddy B. There’s also maybe five guys in this draft teams will think might be worth a shot. After all that I just don’t know who is really going to take a shot, especially since he’s under contract
I think if you're a team that has a starter that you aren't completely sold on but you aren't gonna make a run at one early in the draft (Bears, Colts, Jags, Raiders?) Hill could be attractive because you could bring him in without upsetting your current starter and add levels to your playbook. I think there are better, more traditional options available.....but I also think Bridgewater is gonna make a lot more money than he's worth.
I don't know. If you have the talent to put around him,(like the Saints had) he'd be an asset to your team. But you can't expect him to fix all your problems on the O side of the ball. But your right. TEDDY GONNA GET PAID !!!!!
His worth/contract will be relative to his situation but he’s a former first round pick that added 5 wins to his resume at the exact moment he needed to. It’s going to be easy for a GM to justify putting a lot of ink in the books for Ted’s deal.
I can’t agree that he is overrated because everything I read on him is a mix, varying from he sucks to he will be a franchise quarterback. Buyer’s remorse is a possibility, but it all depends on what you believe he will be. I’m getting the impression that neither of you are fans of his game, lol. I still think he is a slightly better version of Chad Pennington and you can win a lot of games and make a playoff run with that level of passer, so long as he is properly complimented. Right now, his ideal situation is the very one he may be leaving this off-season, IMO.
Chad Pennington is a good comparison. To me Bridgewater is in a class with Tannehill and guys like that....guys that you can win with in the regular season but won’t make a difference in the playoffs unless they catch lightning in a bottle. I can see a bad team overpaying for Bridgewater and never putting the right other pieces in place and the contract basically being a waste. He doesn’t suck. I just don’t think he’s a difference maker.
And I agree...the best spot for Bridgewater is probably the team he will leave. Coaching matters and there aren’t many better than Payton.
I think that depends totally on what Brees want's to do. Wouldn't you love to be the GM in this situation ?? Three starting QB's. Gonna lose one of them. But next year looks fine regardless.
That’s probably where our opinions separate on Bridgewater. I think he can be a difference maker but he’s more situational dependent because of his style.
Jesus, just saw where Screamin' A. Smith has advocated Brady to Tennessee. Don't know that I like being on the same side of the ledger as him...
