This is the part that gets me. It's just a daunting task to cover that offense in total. It's evident every time you watch them. I would absolutely love to get a slobber-knocker game where SF manages to keep them in check, and keep it close and low scoring. But, I'm not getting my hopes too up for that.
Im prepared for a good ol' shootout. Both teams lite it up. Wouldn't surprise me to see 80 points in this one.
I'm really liking the Chiefs. Also hoping Andy can get his. The big young QB hyped QBs of 2017 and 2018 play for it all. Well 2 years ago it was Wentz hut then right after he hot hurt Jimmy went on a tear taking over in SF before getting hurt himself.
Seems like everyone’s taking the Chiefs. My first instinct was San Fran by probably a TD. Though I certainly wouldn’t bet my life on it. Perhaps a little recency bias. I just feel like as good as KC’s offense is, I feel like San Fran’s D is even better. Or at least hungrier. And in the shadow of what Andy Reid’s offense looks like, I feel like the creativity of Shanahan isn’t getting enough credit. Their run game is legit and far from one dimensional. Maybe one of the biggest question marks going into this game is whether Kansas City’s defense is for real, or faking it. They’ve been better in the second half of the year, but I wouldn’t quite say they’ve proven anything. I think if San Fran can come up with a good game plan to shut down Kelce, than they can take this one. Edit: But at least we can all agree on one thing. Yay for a Super Bowl where we don’t have to watch the f**king Pats, again!!!
I think Mahomes is playing with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. The media was all over Lamar Jackson going into the playoffs. Prior to tthat the golden qb was Russell Wilson. Mahomes was almost an after thought because he wasnt setting the league on fire like he did last season. Well now the chiefs are healthier (as a team) than they have been all season and it shows. On a side note it was quite funny reading various boards where people complained that poor tackling by the Titans is why Mahomes was able to score his scramble touchdown. Over and over i saw people saying poor angles missed tackles allowed him to ge in to the endzone. I wish we could put these people on the field and have them try to tackle Mahomes on that scramble.
Antonio Brown has self-incarcerated himself. With a battery investigation ongoing, Hollywood, Florida police told USA Today that Brown has locked himself in his house. Brown, a suspect in the battery of the driver of a moving truck, has ignored attempts by police to contact him. Brown’s trainer, Glen Holt, already has been arrested for felony burglary and battery. It’s the latest bizarre incident involving Brown, who has been the subject of a slow-motion disintegration over the past year. If he has a health condition for which he needs help, here’s hoping he gets it. Last week, agent Drew Rosenhaus terminated his relationship with Brown, in the hopes of getting Brown to seek the help he needs. It didn’t work. At this point, it’s unclear whether anything will. source; NBC
Still counts. My spring break in Key West would've been a lot more boring if I didn't count events that involved strippers.
The Raiders are officially the Las Vegas Raiders The stadium may not be ahead of schedule, but the name change is. Earlier this month, when the Raiders dropped “Oakland” from their name, the plan was to rebrand as the Las Vegas Raiders in March. Instead, the move became official today. The Raiders have announced that they are the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s the fourth time the team’s name has changed; from Oakland originally to Los Angeles to Oakland again and now to Las Vegas. The move happened after owners decided to approve the Rams’ stadium concept in Inglewood, picking it over a proposed Chargers-Raiders collaboration in Carson. The Chargers received dibs on the opportunity to partner with the Rams, opening the door for the Raiders to vamonos to Vegas. The Raiders at one point flirted with San Antonio during an extended process that flowed from the reality that an acceptable stadium deal would not be available in Oakland. Once Las Vegas and Nevada kicked in $750 million for the project, the move to the place the NFL previously had shunned became a no-brainer. source; NBC
This is one of the reasons I was a little less than luke warm on Stefanski becoming a head coach. How much of an influence did Kubiak really have on the offense last season? It could be that he was the real catalyst for the Vikings success on offense, considering his body of work and the style of play Minnesota displayed last season.
