You have a great point here. We've seen McCarthy without Rodgers and that wasn't good and yet, others have succeeded with guys off the bench. Maybe an experienced back up would have helped the Steelers this year instead of grabbing a young guy and putting him on the bench while Ben plays. I would have loved a circa 2005 Charlie Batch this year. Maybe they go that route this year as Ben finishes his time for the Steelers
Not ready for that yet, If we can stay healthy I think the sky is the limit for this team. We have the talent in place to support Ben, could we use upgrades in a couple areas of course, like TE and LT.
Top 5 RB's in this Class are: Taylor Dobbins Swift Etienne Harris One of these will be available in the 2nd if they chose to go that route.

Im not ready for that either. The end of Ben’s career is close. If we terminated Tomlin too it would be really bad sooner than I would like. A new coach has stepped into a good situation the last couple of times we switched coaches. Just saying.
Next season hinges on Ben coming back. With no first rd pick we not getting a QB. If Ben can't play again we need Rudolph to at least be able to lead the offense to score 20 points a game. It would be easier if we had a bell cow RB. That's where we need to put our draft capital in the 2nd rd. This defense with an offense that can control the clock would give us a chance at getting to the promised land. If Ben can come back close to his old self and we get a bell cow RB we could be a team to earn a bye week.
The comment I quoted said winning season. Never mentioned the word "full"./ Ben was 0-2 this year - a losing season. But more importantly, the author tried to insinuate that Ben was the reason Tomlin never had a losing season when in fact Tomlin went 0-2 with Ben and 8-6 without him this year. And that was with practice squad players. Imagine if Tomlin got to pick his quarterback, pay him a shitoad less than they are paying Ben and work with him throughout the off-season as the starter?
The Ravens traded their 2018 #52, 2018 #125 and their 2019 2nd to move up and take Lamar at 1.32. Just sayin'...
Sorry for triple post but as it pertains to 2020 I'm already settled in for a disappointing season. That was carved in stone when they gave Ben the dumbest contract in franchise history last April.
Probably signals that PIT is comfortable with developing Rudolph to be the eventual starter after Ben retires.
Kevin Colbert signs another 1 year deal to stay with the team. Only a matter of time before he retires.
https://steelersdepot.com/2020/02/day-after-visiting-doctors-roethlisberger-begins-throwing-again/ Big Ben has been cleared to start throwing again. Very good news, a little surprising he is throwing a football. Thought he would only be cleared for small items, like tennis balls.
