Yup. One of those cases where no punishment fixes anything. Although if Clowney was out then McCown would have had an easier time.
Nobody should tackle like that. No other circumstances matter. If Clowney wasn't trying to punish Wentz, he tackles like any football player is taught to. That said, he's far from the only player to do it. It probably happened multiple times that game from both teams. This one just sucked the most.
After seven years in the pros, Kyle Long appears to be calling it quits. The Chicago Bears guard announced in a tweet posted during Wild Card Weekend on Sunday that he is "stepping away and getting my body right." Long missed 12 games in 2019 due to a hip injury. It was the fourth consecutive season in which Long had missed at least six games; of a possible 64 regular-season games played since 2016, the Bears guard played in just 30. Drafted in the first round of the 2013 draft, Long was voted to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons. But he ended the next four campaigns on injured reserve. Long had one year left on a restructured deal in Chicago with a $9.6 million cap hit. Son of Hall of Famer Howie Long and younger brother of Super Bowl champion Chris Long, Kyle Long will now join his family on the couch, and perhaps on television, for the foreseeable future. source; NFL.com
If not a really bad penalty called for blindside block...could be a whole different result. He definitely showed his nerves on the big stage though.
Probably a good discussion for another day. I disagree, but I'll definitely cop to being guilty of conflating "best season" with "most valuable" (in the team concept).
Cowboys expected to hire Mike Nolan as new DC New Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is wasting no time starting to put together his staff. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport report that the Cowboys are expected to hire Mike Nolan as their new defensive coordinator, per sources informed of the decision. Nolan has spent the past three seasons as linebackers coach with the New Orleans Saints. His departure will now leave a hole on Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's staff. In Dallas, it's a reunion for McCarthy and Nolan. The latter hired McCarthy in 2005 to be his offensive coordinator in San Francisco, a job McCarthy held for one season before moving to Green Bay for his lengthy run as head coach. Now it's McCarthy adding Nolan to his staff with the Cowboys as new beginnings emerge in Dallas.
Oh C'mon Gid !!! Manning was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1978 and 1979. That sucked In 1978, he was named the NFC Player of the Year by UPI after leading the Saints to a 7–9 record That sucked That same year, Archie was also named All-NFC by both the UPI and The Sporting News. That sucked too. A great player on a BAD team. And The success of his boys tend to tell you how good he was. The fruit doesn't fall too far from the tree !!!!!!!!!!!! I thought you were smarter than that to say something like that !!!!!!!!!!
If that had happened to Tom Terrific or Patrick Mahomes, or Aaron Rodgers, Clowney gets ejected..... Wow, blatant and launched himself. That should have been instant ejection
Bs, The Earl hit was unfortunate but Carr pushed Rudolph into Earl's helmet. he was also fined for it. Clowney's hit was malicious and was a definite cheap shot, ala James Harrison and Suh over the years.
