first QB ever to 4000 yrds without a wr with 500+ yrds receiver says a lot Axe. Imagine the season if Jeffery, Aghulor and D. Jackson were healthy? Look what he did without them? That says it all. MVP probably not, but he did a helluva lot with little to nothing.
but axe you also dislike the Eagles too, so is your comment a little biased against Wentz? Would you still feel the same if Wentz played on another team besides Philly?
Your quote from a month ago: "Jeffery is lazy and won't do a damn thing beyond normal receiving duties. Jackson is a waste. Aghulor blows." Can't have this both ways.
More from your quote from one month ago: "And Carson Wentz? Half the city didn't want him and wanted Nick "Super Bowl MVP" Foles. Now no one in the city wants Wentz. Boos and cries of "overrated" are filling the radio airwaves this morning. He's done in this town. The Philly fans love to hate their own and they hate Wentz. He will never win them back unless he rights the ship in a future season and wins another SB, which is highly doubtful. It's over!"
i can have it both ways. you're just being petty using my own words against me. jackson has missed over 2 months of a season, so he was a waste of a ton of money and aghulor was a bad draft pick and has had 1 quality season. he drops a lot of passes. however, all 3 are far superior than what the eagles have now on the wr depth charts. he passed for 4000 yrds with no name wrs. imagine if he had jeffery, aghulor and jackson, regardless of what i said? he exceeds 4000 yrds easily and has a lot more TD passes and is a far more dangerous threat as QB.
you wanna be a fucking dick and use my words against me go ahead and be petty. wentz has third string and practice squad players as his rbs and wrs. if you don't think he's putting up a mvp season fine. if you don't think jeffery, aghulor and jackson would've only increased his stats versus what they are now then so be it, but any qb who has his true starting wrs would do better against 3rd and 4th string guys. common sense. you want to make this bigger than it is for what i posted a month ago when the city was ready to eat wentz after losing to NE, SEATTLE AND MIAMI in a row and what he's done since with a wr corps of scrubs is on you. it's really remarkable what he's done with so little.
Again - I never said he didn't have a fine year and he wouldn't have done better if Jeffrey was healthier and he had Jackson more. IN MY OPINION, I'm not seeing an MVP-caliber season. And, no - you CAN'T have it both ways, Cat. If a month ago all three of those guys sucked, then you can't turn around now and say how wonderful they would have been.
Not being a dick. I'm simply pointing out a simple truth: that neither you, the Eagles' fan base in general, nor the Philadelphia media viewed Wentz as a savior, or an MVP-caliber player just a short month ago. Now he goes 4-0 against teams with a combined record of 16-35 (one game needing OT, another a TD in the last 32 seconds) and I'm suddenly supposed to buy-in to the "could'a been MVP" chatter...? My opinion stays in the "no" category. You're entitled to your own opinion. But here we are yet again, with you getting pissy at me because I disagree with you.
i didn't say that. im not saying they're wonderful. they can't be as ALL of them are hurt. im saying if healthy and in the lineup all season, Wentz's stats are a helluva lot better.
Cat, not picking a side here, but I get my words used against me all the time. That’s the beauty of having your own opinion on record. When you’re right, you can point to it and say “right there, mutha phucka!”. But when you’re wrong or if you’re opinion has shifted you have to own that too. I get people that come around every year to remind me of things I got wrong going all the way back to 2012. I never have to remind anyone of my mistakes, but sometimes I gotta correct them by breaking out the ledger, lol.
im getting pissy bc you go back and quote me from a month ago when their season was in peril instead of looking at who the hell is he throwing too now? that's why im pissed off. greg ward jr, an ex qb? boston scott? Deontay Burnett? Josh Perkins? WHo the hell are these guys? i don't think he's any MVP candidate over the last 4 weeks, but over the whole season considering all the injuries to the offense, being 5-7 and finishing 9-7 and the rbs and wrs he has now. that's a lot of overcome for any QB. Brees has Kamara and Thomas, who broke the WR reception record this year. Maholmes has Hill and Williams. Brady has White, Michel and Edelman. GB has Rodgers and Adams etc. Wentz has Boston Scott, Miles Sanders and Greg Ward Jr. Not exactly a great trio? Oh and now Ertz is probably missing the game too. Josh Perkins time.
never seen anyone doing that to you Tim. My point stands. a month ago the season was in peril. eagles fans wanted to burn Wentz at City Hall and their big signings at WR and RB were all hurt for half the season or more. Look at what he is throwing too now. 4000 + yrds and a low INT Ratio is damn impressive. It won't matter as Jackson will be the MVP. but if their litany of injuries didn't happen, think of what Wentz could've done? That's what im saying. Going back to quote me how i felt at 5-7 is petty and bullshit to the facts right now and who he is throwing too.
It happens, and usually with the same people. Everything from my draft profiles, to my fantasy rankings, to my record projections... Comes with the territory when you put your opinions out for everyone.
I think you're getting pissy at me Cat because YOUR words are backing up MY side of the ledger. "Jeffrey is lazy" ... "Agholor blows." Wentz was 5-7 WITH them sucking eight kinds of moose balls...but now you want to paint it that they wouldn't have sucked ANY moose balls if they had played the last 4 weeks. AGAIN - I have never said what Wentz did wasn't an impressive feat. BTW: Sanders>Williams. Sanders>White and/or Michel.
