Alright, all. The season isn't over, but it's definitely over. While this team will have to do as much triage as possible with cutting of large veteran contracts, re-signing who they can, and maybe adding a valuable FA, they also have two second round draft picks to work with. What position do you consider highest priority use of those picks? When the second round is over, what is the position you most need to see them have drafted / addressed? There's a possibility of packaging both picks to trade up for a first, to maybe get a higher valued player or a fifth year option, so I'm just leaving the ability to pick one choice. Feel free to post to pick a second, or expound on the choice. I think it's obvious that QB needs to be the top priority. There seem to be a handful of options coming into this draft that each give some manner of upside, but I haven't really watched much CFB this year. Just from reading, it looks like there might be a greater than average number of intriguing prospects this year, pending Juniors. Of course, Pace is picking, so it doesn't really matter - he'll get a QB pick wrong. Ah, fuck.
I'm torn here, because OT, TE, QB, Edge, and 5 tech are 1A - 1E. After Akeim Hicks went down, Eddie Goldman was useless, and RRH/Nick Williams had spurts, but no consistency. Leonard Floyd, Aaron Lynch, and Isaiah Irving cant win 1 on 1s when Mack is doubled/tripled. We know about Mitch. Cut Charles Leno. JP Holtz would be a nice 3rd string TE.
If we had a first round pick, I’d say QB. But since the question was “draft priority”, I’m going with O Line. That makes everything better in this offense immediately if we get that upgraded now.
The issue of the QB position dominates everything, which was the one thing I think we all wanted to not be the case by now, last September. I've made a decision, then doubled back. I've flip flopped and I never flip flop. Its a question with no obvious answer. There is no path even remotely clear, there are only opinions/hopes that are no more valid than each other. - I know that I do not want Pace to pick the next attempt at a franchise QB. After Glennon and trading up to take the 1/3 chance who wouldn't become a star I have 0% faith Pace he can get it right next time. - With the full 16 game slate in the books now(and last season) I believe that Matt Nagy's Offense will not succeed in the NFL. Im not even sure what Nagy's Offense truly is, and worse, im not sur ehe does either! Perhaps the biggest problem ofg all with Nagy's Offense is Nagy so its kinda screwed isn't it. I do not see how a rookie could come in and hit the ground running next season, it just seems impossible. I really hate to see another great defense wasted but the writing is on the wall. Nagy's Offense is getting worse not better, its a toilet in a Thailand hostel. Just walking gives you a desease. If I may quote varder, its ducking terrible. - The OL has been a shampoo of spew every single week. They should be made to go streaking with Frank The TAnk. I hate them all. Especially you Leno. That fuck. Worst LT in the league if he's starting next year shoot everybody. Add all that up and I think the only way forward next draft is to go back to fundamentals. You need to be a hammer on both sides of the ball. One 2nd rounder is nailed on for T. Whoever, fuck it pat will tel us. The other 2nd rounder needs to be either a G or a 5-tech, whichever is rated higher. Or an edge if he drops. Protecting the QB or pressuring the QB, it needs to be both picks. I voted OL.
I heckled the ass out of |Leno in London and im glad I did it. I know doing it after warmups before they've even kicked off isn't great form but he was a turd and I knew he was a tured and I knew hed be a turd no matter what. And my seat was right near the Bears tunnel so fuck him. And fuck the clown in the cade McNown jerseywho was asking me to pipe down. Fucking fraud. What self respecting bears fans goes to a game wearing that jersey in 2019. Go to the shop tightass.
Lmao this just made my morning and props to you Ev. Hell I didn't even know Bigrob was at that game. So he's the guy that bought that jersey I was wondering where he was.
Pace created this issue and since he's much smarter than everyone else he should be able to figure it out right ?????? All the fn above .........
I selected QB and will every year until that position is solved. I did consider OL considering how the lack of it impacted the offense this season, but until the QB position is solved there is little to be gained. Yes, an improved line can make an average better, but I'm not sold on Mitch being even an average QB. Next...
God I love those blackout posts, so much fun the next day. That wasn't the only suspect Bears jersey I saw at that game tbh, but it was the most memorable for obvious reasons.
Nice name drop tuna. I had to google that one. Bit self-defeating tho isn't it. If it can go over my head its got no chance of landing with your average pisshead brit
Sorry I love you man and I also said I have a Bob Avellini jersey in the next post so we're the same. I make fun of myself all the time, but mostly BF. I will say this you've been more critical more recently of this team than you have in the past.
Well at least BoBo, as I called him, made it to the playoffs in 77 only to get blown out by the Cowboys 44-0.
