    Homer.

  7. Catfish Guest

regardless. he didn't leave his feet and hit him squarely in the chest. the fact that he was hurt got him tossed and the suspension. bullshit ruling homer or not.

It was ruled by the Player Safety Committee that it was interference. It was late, he didn't have the puck and he injured the player who was defenseless. The Refs disagree with you also, but I respect your opinion.

and like the refs and committee are never wrong ? if the player gets up and is fine, there is a 2 min penalty for interference and that's it. him staying down on the ice drew the ejection and 5 min. if he was fine, it doesn't happen.

I agree with this ruling, totally uneccessary to hit him, he wasn't in the play anymore. It's good for the league to send these young guys coming into the league a message in telling them these plays will get you suspended.

    Go for the nhl.

oh yeah skinny - then riddle me this, how the hell does okposo escape a penalty, ejection and fine for this hit then, which happened last night ? ' Will calls me a "homer?" My take is call it across the board fairly. Again bullshit NHL.

Why do you always take a 'me against the world' attitude? Is it ok if I, Skinny, the NHL and the refs disagree with you?

  13. Catfish Guest

3 games for that hit and Okposo gets nothing ? where are you guys on Okposo ? Zilch ! That's my point. That's my attitude Will. You chastise Farabee but you and the NHL and the refs last night let Okposo slide? Call it both ways, which goes for the NHL and you and Skinny.

  14. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

That reasoning does not equate. Just because the refs miss a call in one game the Farabee call is bullshit? Gimme a break.

Farabee's hit was deemed illegal and in my opinion a cheap, cowardly hit.

  15. Catfish Guest

3 games worth? that doesn't equate.

Woah woah, where did I say that I was ok with the Okposo hit? Maybe Farabee could've been 2 games but Okposo shouldn't have been let off.
George Parros is calling the shots now.

if the guy farabee hit isn't hurt, i don't think it's anything but 2 min for interference. he hit the guy in the chest. bc he was down on the ice and had to be helped off only added to it. Okposo's hit was a lot worse, far more dangerous and he gets nothing on the ice or afterwards. this is my issue. it's not consistent and when they do make a call it's not really fair or right. a ton of calls this year are like this. and where the fuck was the suspension on tkachuk for jumping on konecny when he was down on the ice already from a cheapshot crosscheck in the back ? he got fined and that's all? he jumped on a player who was on the ice down? i mean who runs this thing Mickey Mouse?

One of the factors that goes into deciding the punishment is how hurt the player is. How many games will he be out? How serious did he get hurt?

Unfortunately, it's way too big of a factor.

I disagree. If you commit a penalty that injures another player you should have the book thrown at you. 2 minutes for taking out a guy for possibly a long stint is unacceptable.
