Lamar Jackson has a quad injury that he suffered in the pocket, not running. He's still determined to suit up today as the Ravens host the NY Jets tonight on Thursday Night Football. Sadly, Jackson's injury may be the serious for today. LT Ronnie Stanley may not suit up today after getting a concussion at some point vs the Bills. Stanley has arguably been the NFL's best LT. He's one of the highest rated by most metrics, has not allowed a sack all season, and has only allowed 3 pressures. The Jets are also dealing with a slew of injuries, more so than most teams. At this point, they may not be able to dress 46 player. The Ravens will also be crowned 2019 AFC North champions today if they can get the win against the Jets. Can the Ravens pull off their 12 win of the season? Oh, and if New England or the Chiefs lose on Sunday, Baltimore will have locked in a bye week. If both somehow lose, the Ravens secure the #1 seed. I honestly doubt it happens so they'll have to win today and then win next week (or the week after) to secure Home Field Advantage throughout the playoffs. LET'S GO, RAVENS!!!
Yeah for all the talk about Jackson being an injury waiting to happen because of his running, by far the worst hits he's taken have been while passing. The Ravens need to avoid turnovers and score early to avoid letting the Jets have any hope of winning. If they do that, maybe Jackson can get some rest in the 4th. If they let the Jets hang around, then anything can happen including a loss.
The defense has come a very long way from week 4. DeCosta has done amazing things with the roster during the season. 3 and out to start the game. Good job, defense
Boykin has been very good as a blocker. I'm glad he got a TD this game. I actually hope he stays a starter next year and continues to develop. Tucker has missed 3 extra points in the last 2 seasons and in his entire career.
Boykin is just scratching the surface on what he can be. Really like the effort he puts in on every down.
So we discussed before how the Ravens rush offense drops the rankings of run defenses. The Texans and, I think, Rams went from 4th and 5th to 15th and 17th (or something along those lines). The 2nd ranked Jets run defense, allowing 78 rush yards per game, have given up 99 rush yards in the first quarter. Unless something happens to change the pace of the game. I'm going to predict they drop from 2nd to 13th on Tuesday morning
The defense after the three and out is playing like they expect the Jets to just quit, and they get abused. We miss Rossburg so fricking much. Harbaugh should do anything he can to bring him back. By Ravens standards, our ST are abysmal in every facet. Just imagine if we didn't have an offense and had to rely on them this year
We really need to figure out how to keep Smith and Peters next season. Seeing the drop-off to Carr is massive. Defense has looked anything but impressive tonight, but they are godly compared to our ST. This is another showing for the offense to carry the day. Jackson is looking good, but again, he's taking big hits in the pocket after throwing a pass.
Just a good play by the defense. Ingram was completely open for the first. Roman has gotten a little too cute the past two weeks playcalling
It's going to be nice to see Brown healthy for a full season. We've never drafted a receiver who could make that catch.
Hollywood tied the Ravens rookie receiving TD record with that catch. He now has 7 along with Marlon Brown and Torrey Smith
I want to point out again that Andrews could have jumped the defender again and didn't. Again, players fully listening to their coaches.
