That’s the main reason I brought up the idea that this could be more about Zac Taylor likely being the Bengals HC for a very long time. Serving both the immediate and the long term could be the ultimate goal.
Belichick's saying the .com guys are independent and that he never gets their tapes is irrelevant. Anyone that doesn't see that I dont know what to say honestly.
And Belichick has further tried to insulate himself by saying that he never saw any film. What about Ernie Adams coach? Has he ever seen any film? He's the guy would disseminate all the information and he then could inject himself in game-planning without ever officially revealing why he felt the way he did. They are confirmed cheaters. No one should be surprised that they would cheat again. Why not? Probably something they do anytime to anyone they think they can do it to.
The fact that the Kraft umbrella would have the video and could easily distribute it is enough. Whether it was malicious or not, whether it was contracted out or not, the doubt is gone. If there is any evidence of possible sign stealing then the Pats should lose a 1st round pick at the minimum. They could very well be innocent but they needed to properly "Do Their Job". Oh the irony.
A report on Tuesday indicated the NFL’s investigation into the latest Patriots videotaping incident could be wrapped up by the end of the week, but NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent declined to give a timeline on Wednesday. Vincent told reporters at the league meetings that the league is “still gathering information” about what happened in Cleveland last week. A videographer working for the team on a video feature about a pro scout took several minutes of footage of the Bengals sideline, which violated a league policy and which the Patriots said was not intended for use by the football operations side of the organization. Vincent said that the league’s work would continue once they are back in New York after the meetings in Texas wrap up on Wednesday. The same report about the possible timing of a decision also said that severe sanctions are unlikely. source; PFT
I heard that the punishment would actually be less than that of Spygate which seems silly to me. When players get busted for the same thing over and over, the penalty keeps escalating until they get it through their head to stop or are out of the league. There's only two possible ways to look at this. You either view the Patriots as the most well run and meticulous team in all of football. A team that keeps players in line and oversees every aspect of conduct. or They are the biggest bumbling buffoons the sports world has ever seen. They have rogue agents everywhere acting on their own behalf without any interaction from team officials stealing signals, deflating footballs, taping walkthroughs, jamming audio equipment, bugging locker rooms, etc.
Goodell sees no momentum for changes to playoff seeding... This season’s playoffs could see a 7-9 NFC East champion playing host to a 13-3 NFC West runner-up, and some people think that’s unfair. Roger Goodell is not one of those people. The Commissioner said at the league meeting today that there has been talk in the past about changing the NFL playoff structure so that home-field advantage in each game goes to the team with the better regular-season record, rather than guaranteeing every division winner a home playoff game. But Goodell said the overwhelming feeling in the NFL is that winning a division title is the primary goal for NFL teams and should be rewarded with a home playoff game. “Teams go into the season, the first objective is to win the division. That’s what they work on: Win the division, go to the playoffs,” Goodell said. Goodell said that the issue hasn’t even come up this year at the league office, nor does he expect it to. “I have not heard that. I don’t anticipate hearing that again,” Goodell said. So while Seahawks or 49ers fans won’t enjoy having to play a road game at Dallas or Philadelphia in the first weekend of January, Goodell doesn’t have any sympathy. source; PFT
exactly right. The Division is huge for all teams, not just the East. This year winning the division will be a Godsend for the East Champion. And there's a chance Philly or Dallas can still win it by going 9-7.
And in other news. It's football related.....kinda. Tapping shaken beer cans won't prevent them from exploding Despite it being a commonly held belief, tapping a beer can won’t prevent it from exploding, according to the results of a study published by MIT. Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark meticulously experimented with shaken and unshaken beer cans before coming to their conclusion. Researchers had two sets of cans--one that was vigorously shaken and one that wasn’t. The cans were weighed before being opened and afterward. Some of the cans were tapped and some weren’t. Regardless, the tapping showed no impact on the amount of liquid lost when the can was opened. Fox News Another myth shot to hell. I'm still taping on them anyway. It's a habit now.
Tapping doesn't do shit. You have to snap the tab a few times without actually popping it open, that's what settles the foam.
I say that is a false study funded by the beer industry to cause us to lose more beer out of every can and thus have to buy more. Next thing you know, they'll tell you nothing happens if you smack the top of an open beer bottle.
A few years ago when the NFC West was a joke, the Seahawks won it with a 7-9 record. The Saints had a wildcard spot with 10 or 11 wins. Those damn Seahawks won that game. For once Gocdell gets it right. Leave it alone.
I'll do it. I don't even need to be paid. Just need the materials. I might need a few dozen truckloads each of different types of beer.
