I couldn't read the small writing on the label of the tylenol cold day and nightime bottle. Easy solution, take a picture with my phone, and then zoom in on the pic, problem solved.

 

but it was a hockey coach in the minors wasn't it ? wasn't he molested ? how many other NHL players did that coach molest? Doesn't matter it wasn't NHL related. It affected NHL players.

 

The other player was Sheldon Kennedy, I can't attatch that with what's happening today, that was a whole other level.
A coach calling a player a f** or usng a racial slur, kicking a player is seious, but not as serious as what happened to theo.

That was very wrong back then and was never acceptable, whereas a homophobic or racial slur was considered ok back in the day.

When I was 12 and took karate classes, there were stories of students going home with bruises after the class, that was a badge of honour back then, today it's a lawsuit.

It's not acceptable to get physical with players in any way. It's not acceptable to single out a players ethnicity or skin colour in any job environment.
Try doing that in any other sport, I don't want to hear that N____ music.

Try that in the nfl or nba lol, you would get your head kicked in.

my point is nothing is sacred. this goes beyond the coaching world. it's in the workplace and the classroom, on movie sets and everywhere else you walk. you can't even look the wrong way bc someone is offended.

 

I agree, there are certain things that are over the top. I don't think Bettman is overplaying his hand though, these are legitimate concerns.

The thing that pisses me off these days is that you can't mention an ethnicity without people getting offended.

I sometimes am curious about the country people come from, as soon as I mention it, they want to change the topic. If I mention an ethnicity to a third party, it's automatically assumed that what comes next will be negative or racist.
No, there's actually an interesting story to tell about their history and about the country where they come from itself.

someone this season on the tv Survivor mentioned the term "du rag" to another contestant, who was African American. You guessed it, he was offended, so the kid had to apologize to him. Also on the Survivor, the same black guy said "it's an all-fermale alliance as it's 4 woman to 3 guys." The Chinese lady blurts out "how sexist that is!" How? It was an all woman alliance and it was 4 women to 3 men. People get their panties in a knot over nothing and then make a federal case out of it.

 

There's liberal nutjobs and then there's right-wing nutjobs, (both wastes of life), the nutjobs are at war and ruining the country. We need more moderate thinkers with common sense.

You might like an idea that's celebrated by the left, you might like another idea celebrated by the right.
Is a coach kicking a player on the bench wrong? Yes, but does that all of a sudden label me a liberal nutjob? That's where the problem is, too much dividing into two seperate groups of all or none.

Too much power to either side will never work.

 

And about this Merry Xmas vs Happy Holidays, if it's Dec.25th, I'll say Merry Christmas to a Christian. If it's a week before Xmas, I'll say have a good holidays.

Not because I'm afraid to say Merry Xmas, because I'm including New Years Eve and Day in there.

So, not going to get caught up in the nutjob war. If you have a jewish friend you wish them a happy hannukah, if someone is muslim you just say, have a good holiday. Wow, like that really effected my life, Buon Natale!

 

I gotta remember to say Happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas next time I see my lawyer. He's Jewish.

 

I remember even back in the 80s, people saying, merry xmas and happy hannukka.

 

I said, happy holidays to this lady last week, and she responded, we say merry xmas around here. Ok, I'm a christian as well and say merry xmas, I'm just including your new years holiday in there. Don't tie me into your PC white collar wars because I'm not a part of your world.
