The refs DIDN'T blow that play dead. That's unabated to the QB. Mitch didn't even go fro the free play. He was gonna get crushed and quickly threw that into the ground.

 

Bears have been really bad at recognizing free plays and taking a try downfield since Mitch has been under center.

He lacks that awareness.
