Best trick play? All the Eagles had to do was remember how to play football. You don't completely leave a guy uncovered because the kicker is threatening to run into four of your defenders...
That wasn't what happened, though. There were four players there to stop the run. One of them was supposed to have stayed on his man. He chose not to, despite having several other players there to stop a lead kicker without any lead blockers. This was a play that, without a massive screw up on the Eagles' part, is an embarrassing failure. But they bet that the Eagles would fall apart, and they were right. This wasn't a great trick play - it was a fundamental and embarrassing failure by the Eagles.
The six teams in playoff position in the AFC didn’t change in Week 13, but there’s a new team at the top. The Patriots lost to the Texans on Sunday night, which pushes the Ravens into the No. 1 position with four games left to play in the regular season. Baltimore beat New England earlier this year, so the Patriots will need the Ravens to lose in order to have any hope of being the top seed in the conference. Given the way the Ravens have been playing, that may not be a likely outcome. Here’s a look at how the entire playoff picture looks in the AFC: LEADERS 1. Ravens (10-2) Eight straight wins and no sign of slowing down after beating the 49ers on Sunday. 2. Patriots (10-2) Some may wonder if the Patriots’ offense is a fatal flaw, but any final conclusions will wait until January. 3. Texans (8-4) A big win on Sunday night keeps the Texans on top of the AFC South. 4. Chiefs (8-4) A division title isn’t assured, but it isn’t in much doubt either. 5. Bills (9-3) They just keep winning, which makes this week’s date with the Ravens an interesting one. 6. Steelers (7-5) Mike Tomlin’s coach of the year case looks pretty good right now. OUTSIDE LOOKING IN 7. Titans (7-5) They can all but eliminate the Raiders this week, but they may need help from others to make it to the postseason if they don’t sweep the Texans. 8. Raiders (6-6) They’ve been beaten by a combined score of 74-12 over the last two weeks, but they remain very much alive heading into Week 14. 9. Colts (6-6) Sunday’s loss to the Titans was a severe blow. 10. Browns (5-7) Freddie Kitchens may not have company when it comes to believing Pittsburgh started it, but everyone knows Pittsburgh ended the Browns’ playoff hopes on Sunday. 11. Jaguars (4-8) Nick Foles got benched and now we wait to see who gets fired in Jacksonville. 12. Broncos (4-8) Drew Lock‘s debut was a winner and the next four weeks will be about assessing the rookie’s fitness. 13. Chargers (4-8) We may be watching the clock run out on Philip Rivers‘s time with the Chargers. 14. Jets (4-8) A three-game winning streak feels like a distant memory after losing to the Bengals. ELIMINATED 15. Dolphins (3-9) The Dolphins aren’t very good, but they keep fighting. 16. Bengals (1-11) Zac Taylor got his first NFL win, which is reason to celebrate unless you’re locked in on the first overall drat pick.
as an Eagles fan and Philly native, I'm embarrassed and appalled at the Eagles yesterday and this season. I've been harping on GM Howie Roseman doing nothing all season and I stick by my guns on that one! He hasn't done shit. He had a ton of cap space and failed to get Clowney, Fitzpatrick, Ramsey and anyone else who can play defense. Jalen Mills and the rest of those stiffs couldn't cover me and I'm fat, slow and 48 years old. Any idiot can see their secondary is an issue for years, but their GM. Brutal. Jim Schwartz gave up 510 yards in the Super Bowl and because they won the game, he kept his job! His schemes stink and he belongs in High School. He has no business coaching in the NFL. Total joke. The glory of the SB win was two long years ago. The honeymoon is long over. Pederson should not get a pass on terrible losses like yesterday or any others. The team is better than that and better than losing to Miami, Detroit and Atlanta this year. Pederson can't even defend a fake FG! Third gimmick trick play they allowed in 3 weeks. Inexcusable. He needs to be on a short leash! The owner won't fire him, but he should! The guy can't coach and their past success was not on Pederson but on FRANK REICH! Their WRs won't go all out for their QB! They drop easy balls that are thrown to them. Ertz dropped an easy first down yesterday which led to a missed FG. Terrible. Jeffery is lazy and won't do a damn thing beyond normal receiving duties. Jackson is a waste. Aghulor blows. Parker for Miami showed what a real WR does for his QB. Oh, nice contract extension on the kicker! He sucks! And Carson Wentz? Half the city didn't want him and wanted Nick "Super Bowl MVP" Foles. Now no one in the city wants Wentz. Boos and cries of "overrated" are filling the radio airwaves this morning. He's done in this town. The Philly fans love to hate their own and they hate Wentz. He will never win them back unless he rights the ship in a future season and wins another SB, which is highly doubtful. It's over! The party, the glow of an old Super Bowl win and everything else from 2018! I can only pray owner Jeffrey Lurie has the balls to make some major changes this off-season or expect more failures in 2020 and beyond. Dallas, you can have the NFC East this year. Eagles don't deserve it!
[QUOTE="Catfish, post: 694814, member: 451"Dallas, you can have the NFC East this year. Eagles don't deserve it![/QUOTE] Dallas doesn't deserve it, either. Can't beat a team with a winning record. Lose out, fire Garrett, get a Top 10 draft pick would be okay by me.

Dallas shouldn't be this bad. They should have the division !
Not as good as Harbaughs or Shanahans. He needs to beat Buffalo and the Ravens (but only if the ravens are actually playing for something in week 17). If he doesnt pull those wins off then he has no signature wins. Its quite possible they finish the season without a win vs a team ending with a winning record which means no wins vs playoff bound teams.
