What a game, what a hell of a game! The 49ers are for real though, nasty weather, tough sledding but they pull it out. 10-2 baby!

I had a bad feeling about kicking all day today. Boy it's nice to escape with a win.

Honestly, if we make the Superbowl I'd rather not face the 49ers again. Damn, that team is good. Throwing on their last 4th down instead of running it lost them the game.

What a fun game to watch. Well earned Ravens win. Great team.

From an outsiders' perspective, watching both teams seriously for the first time this year:

Jackson is still not a good passer. I worry about whether a team that's prepared for the option offense can stop it come the postseason. We may not find out until Super Bowl time, though. I wonder what wrinkles they have saved for when it matters most. No doubt, this is the most interesting team to follow in the league, and a ton of fun to watch.

So you watched one game against the top pass defense, in heavy rain, and then made the statement that he's a bad passer? Forget that he came into the game #3 in passer rating and #1 in passing TDs (with 67% on completions). This one game, against that opponent, in those elements, says it all......

I've watched the Ravens a few games now and Jackson has been doing very well passing the ball. Today's game was probably the weather more than anything.

Anyway, from Seattle to next week was the hardest part of the Ravens schedule. Even a huge homer like myself is surprised they have a chance to go undefeated in that stretch.

I was wondering if people were going to criticize Lamar's passing when looking at the box score today, but I think he passed even better than you'd think today. Yeah he missed one or two throws, but he put a couple balls perfectly on receivers that was only stopped by phenomenal defensive plays. Not to mention the obvious PI on Andrews that still counts negatively on Lamar.

Lamar had the fumble today, but given those awful conditions, and how much ball handling he does, he did nothing to ding his play in my eyes.

I've watched Lamar Jackson for years. I watched him in high school, college, and the pros. He's not a good passer. The throws he was making today were not out of the norm for him.

If he were a good passer, this wouldn't be an option offense predicated on him running. He passes well enough to make this offense so incredibly difficult to defend, and that's all that's needed. Why does that make you and other Ravens fans so defensive? You have the most dangerous offense in the NFL.

And why wouldn't you measure Jackson against a great defense, when considering Super Bowl hopes? That's the same vein as Bears fans praising Trubisky for performances against the Bucs and Lions... It makes no sense. If you believe Jackson's passing acumen is proven by his numbers, you don't understand the offense they're running, and I'm willing to give everyone here more credit than that.

My concern is this - no regular season team is game planning specifically to stop the Ravens' offense and nothing else. That is going to change in the post-season. I'm concerned as to whether they have more wrinkles left to generate plays against prepared defenses, or whether Lamar is going to be up to the task of passing in more demanding situations. That's what I'm eager to see, and why this team is so much fun / interesting to watch.

    1. That's a silly statement to make, the whole "if he were a good passer" talk. If ANY head coach has a good passer who is also an elite runner and only uses them as an everyday pocket passer, they deserve to get fired. Does it really make sense to you to NOT have an offense most teams don't know how to defend just because you want a dynamic player to be like others?

    2. Nobody said you can't measure Jackson against a great defense. I'm saying he's played 12 total games including a few against other great defenses, leads the league in passing TDs and came into the game #3 in PASSER RATING. It's just stupid/silly to use one game, any one game, to make the assertion that he's not a good passer.

    3. How do you know what teams are game planning for? Teams are moving WRs to QB in practice before Ravens games to try and simulate Jackson's speed and running read option, but you believe they aren't game planning for the Ravens? Texans had a bye before the Ravens game, but they didn't game plan for the Ravens specifically during those 2 weeks? You actually believe NFL teams fighting for playoff positioning (49ers, for example, could drop from 1st to 5th) but aren't doing any game planning for the #1 scoring offense in the league and just putting the game up to hope? Do you have anything to back that up or are you just taking your own opinion and treating like a fact?

Texans up 21-3 late in the 3rd. Ravens could end the week as the #1 seed in the AFC

The stretch of games the Ravens have gone through has to be one of the toughest any team has ever gone through to come out on the other side without a loss. A 9-3 Bills team adds to that.

It doesn't mean anything really, but the Ravens are clearly the best team in the NFL right now. The only other challengers for that title who they haven't faced would be what the Saints and Packers? So there you have it. 3/4 Season Internet Best Team Champions.
