Always seems like Garrett is on the hot seat. I think it's over in Dallas for him. Of course, in a league of retreads, he'll land on his feet.
Disagree. This is EXACTLY the time to do it. Dallas is (or SHOULD be) better than they've shown. Much of their problems flat-out come down to coaching. This is Garrett's NINTH full season in the league - there's talent on both sides of the ball. If they can't make a significant playoff push, it's time to go. Quite frankly, it's well PAST time to go.
Im not arguing its passed time for Garrett to go... he is the reason they struggle in my opinion. What im saying is, in my opinion, you got to Garrett, you don't air it out publically like that. I think its a classes act. Im of the upbringing that if you have a problem with someone, you go to them and have an eye to eye, heart to heart, not a behind the other parties back deal.
Wentz is almost done in Philly from a fan's perspective and online. Now thankfully the fans don't own the team, but half the city of Philly wanted Foles to stay. After the parade of boos on Sunday at home, Wentz is on thin ice. He just can't plays happen. He has little touch on the ball. He has to gun it in every throw. Bad, bad, bad, Sure NE and Seattle are tough teams but those games were winnable and Wentz and his shitty WR core did zilch. Pederson isn't helping with his inept play calling. Thankfully Tom Brady gave Dallas a loss to help the Eagles out. Eagles look so lost now, none of the remaining games are a lock win. None. That's how bad the Eagles have become. GM hasn't helped them at all either. I doubt Lurie makes any major moves this off-season, but i would love to see major changes in Philly. Schedule wasn't that hard and 5-6 is unacceptable.
Yes, thankfully the fans don't own the team because, I'm sorry but, Philly is full of a bunch of idiots. Listen I've been more worried about the defense. It's finally turned around. Now everyone is crying about the offense. Wentz needs to be better and the injuries on the line and at WR have sucked but now they get a few easy weeks to get healthy and figure it out. We caught a break and now we gotta use it to our advantage. Same thing happened last year. We struggled, figured shit out and then upset the rams before sneaking in and being one drive from the NFC Championship. I have no doubt that other teams are wary and I don't just mean Dallas. If the Eagles don't take a crazy L they have 1 whole month to get healthy and ready. If they figure it out and get in they have much more than a puncher's chance.
No they didn't. If they both won on Sunday and both teams won out with the Eagles winning the rematch then it would have gone to Strength of Victory since all other tiebreakers beforehand would be tied. You essentially compare the Jets, Seahawks and Packers records for the Eagles vs the Lions, Rams and Patriots records for the Cowboys. Eagles would currently be up 1.5 games but that isn't much at this point. The Jets beating the Raiders was a surprise for sure. edit: No link. I just followed the tiebreaking procedures.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens scored at a torrid pace Monday night, beating the Los Angeles Rams 45-6.
I'm not saying they can't be beat but this Ravens team, IMO, is the best the NFL has. They're so balanced.
Could be he has talked to him behind closed doors and not gotten the results he wanted. (Im sure after the Jets game there had to be some discussions). Maybe he thinks a public lashing will do what a private one will not.
I don't know really and I cant judge a mans intent, but if that was the case, I still disagree with it. JJ doesn't like losing and being near the top in the League offensively and still unable to beat a team with a winning record, im sure he's frustrated. Personally, I think Dallas's problems have a lot to do with the coaching, just I also think that bitching about it publicly is going to do more harm than good.
That's why this coming Ravens and 49ers game is so intriguing... great matchup and possibly a SB preview. Cant wait...
With five weeks left in the regular season, five NFC teams should be feeling pretty comfortable about their chances of making the playoffs. The 49ers, Saints, Packers, Seahawks and Vikings are all at least two games up on their closest competitors for playoff spots and, barring total collapse, it shouldn’t be long before some of those teams are clinching berths in the postseason. Where they’ll all stack up once the playoffs arrive remains in some doubt, however, and the final weeks will set the seeding for January. The outlier to the separation of powers is in the NFC East, where the Eagles and Cowboys both remain alive for a division title. Here’s how the entire conference shapes up after Week 12: LEADERS 1. 49ers (10-1) Can their defense stop Lamar Jackson? If not, we could have a new No. 1 team in the NFC next week. 2. Saints (9-2) Survived the Panthers to essentially sew up the NFC South and they get their shot at the Niners in Week 14. 3. Packers (8-3) A second loss in three games keeps the Vikings right on top of them in the NFC North. 4. Cowboys (6-5) They fizzled in New England to keep hope alive for the Eagles. 5. Seahawks (9-2) Monday night’s game against the Vikings will be a big part of the seeding game. 6. Vikings (8-3) They should be well rested for Seattle after their Week 12 bye. OUTSIDE LOOKING IN 7. Rams (6-5) Eight turnovers in the last three games are one of the reasons why it’s hard to believe the Rams can right the ship in December. 8. Bears (5-6) The good news is that they got a win and have the Lions on deck. The bad news is the Cowboys, Packers, Chiefs and Vikings are their final four opponents. 9. Eagles (5-6) It’s been a rough year, but the schedule shows the Dolphins, Giants and Washington in the next three weeks so the division title probably isn’t running away from them. 10. Panthers (5-6) They may have lost even if Joey Slye made a 28-yard field goal, but it’s all the more painful that he did. 11. Buccaneers (4-7) Running the table would get them a winning season, but they haven’t won two straight games all year. 12. Lions (3-7-1) They’ll try to avoid a winless November against the Bears on Thanksgiving. 13. Cardinals (3-7-1) They can help spoil the season for the Rams this week. 14. Falcons (3-8) Atlanta reverted to form after a two-game winning streak. 15. Giants (2-9) Pat Shurmur is now 17-43 as an NFL head coach. 16. Washington (2-9) Selfies with Dwayne Haskins are all the rage these days. source; PFT
Gotta stop the run. Consistently make them play a 2nd and 8, 3rd and 7 type of game. The Steelers had the blueprint earlier in the year but that was with a healthy Stephon Tuitt. Not sure they can repeat that performance without him. Speaking of health... that's the other thing going for the Ravens. They are remarkably healthy right now (not sure the status on Skura after last night). Haven't really haven't turned to any backups other than Chuck Clark.
Steelers bench Mason Rudolph for Duck Hodges. I’m not as big a fan of Duck as much as most Steelers fans...but Rudolph has been pretty bad the past two weeks, although Sunday his weapons were pretty limited with no Juju or Conner, and no Pouncey to help with line calls.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...-out-during-baltimores-blowout-win-over-rams/ Ravens players enjoy a fans snack and his beer during the game! haha. Best beer he ever bought.
The Baltimore Ravens soared to 9-2 Monday night, but lost a key piece along the way. Center Matt Skura will miss the rest of the 2019 regular season with a knee injury suffered in Baltimore's 45-6 win over the Los Angeles Rams, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported, per a source informed of the situation. The team later confirmed the news. Skura is currently second in Pro Bowl voting, illustrating his popularity among Ravens and NFL fans. His departure due to injury will be difficult for his teammates to bear, but there's hope that his absence won't be as noticeable at least in one phase of Baltimore's offense. Pro Football Focus ranks Skura as the NFL's 22nd best center in pass blocking with a grade of 63.9, which places him directly behind veteran Eagles center Jason Kelce, but well off the mark established by the league's elite. Pass blocking for Lamar Jackson can make evaluating a lineman a little murky, but can also make things easier on a lineman who is tasked with keeping a defender off a hyper-mobile passer. The run-blocking department might see a hit, though, as Skura is tied for 11th in the NFL among all centers with at least 250 snaps played in run blocking grade, earning a flat 61 mark from PFF. Then again, Baltimore is averaging a league-best 210.5 yards per game on the ground, so even a slight downgrade would still keep the Ravens near the top of the league. The Jackson element should again make his replacement's job a little easier, seeing as it's incredibly difficult to take down Jackson as a passer and equally as tough to get to him as a runner. The Ravens should be able to shoulder Skura's loss better than the average team because of this. That doesn't diminish Skura's importance, though. As a two-year starter who went from the practice squad to the lineup first at guard and then center, Baltimore will be hard-pressed to find someone with as much dedication as Skura. They'll also have to rely on a backup to make the ever-important pre-snap reads and calls up front. Again, though: They're all fortunate to be blocking for the most dynamic player in football. We'll see how this affects Baltimore moving forward. source; NFL.com
