Eagles lose but now they control their own destiny. The defense is looking pretty good but hopefully the offense shapes up/gets healthy in time.
The Patriots moved their record to 10-1 to maintain a two-game lead over the Bills. They set an NFL record with a 17th consecutive 10-win season, breaking a tie with the 49ers (1983-98). Truly remarkable.
That's pretty understated. It's an incredible team achievement. It rates up with the NHL Red Wings record for making the playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons.
No. They had to rely on strength of victory tiebreakers if both they and Dallas won today. Eagles now would hold the common opponent's tiebreaker.
I think I brought it up before. Losses by both teams was better than wins (unless Seattle tanks going forward).
LMAO. Well obviously a win and a Dallas loss would have been the ideal result. Specifically we just needed NE to take care of business to control our own destiny. Seattle just happened to be an uncommon opponent at the right time for it to work out this way. It's just how tiebreakers work.
Jerry Jones vents about coaching If Jason Garrett and the Giants want to do business after the season, Jerry Jones may encourage it. Jones vented to reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Patriots about deficiencies in coaching. “Special teams is a total reflection of coaching,” Jones said, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. The special-teams gaffes included a blocked punt that led to a touchdown, plus multiple failures of execution on kickoff returns and a missed field goal. “With the makeup of this team, I shouldn’t be this frustrated,” Jones also said, via the team’s official website. Which is another way of saying, “We have the talent, so talent isn’t the problem.” And to make it clear that Jones wasn’t happy about coaching, he said this: “I don’t think there’s a game where a coaching staff couldn’t do better. I don’t like that we’ve got so many [this year] as I’m standing here tonight.” With the head coach only five regular-season games away from completing his current contract, Jones’ sudden decision to criticize a coach he previously defended so aggressively suggests that Jones could eventually be doing what he’s done in the past — supporting an employee totally and completely and unconditional until the moment he no longer does. source; PFT
Sounds like Jerry Jones just threw the coach's under the bus... not real smooth or the right time to do that. Certainly not the right place. His emotions and feelings ideas and ventilation, should have been man-to-man, behind closed doors.
