I believe all quarterbacks are mic’d and I read previously Pouncey was as well. The league would have already had the audio prior to issuing the suspension.

If Myles was less than truthful with this accusation (all of his teammates were caught off guard by this) then his suspension may actually end up increased.

Tell Garret to go join Jessie in the false accusations club. Myles Garret is a piece of shit and should have his suspension go on all of next season too. Now he is going to lie about what Rudolph said while his ass was on top of him

Yeah, probably not a good idea to dress the wife and kids up in their Garrett jersey's and head the Burgh next weekend. lol!

Your reply to this thread is as convenient as Garrett’s defense. Since you are on to Miami I am happy I won’t hear from you. Don’t make any threatening moves to anyone while you are there because we may never hear from you again.

How do you increase an indefinite suspension?

Ban him for life. I would disagree with that but that would be worse.

By making the minimum number of games increase.

Basically, they don’t have to make any kind of announcement and simply carry this into next season without any chance of Myles going back in front of Goodell.

If the league was considering giving him a chance in the off-season to show he was good to be back on the field then an accusation like this, if found to be inaccurate, could make that impossible.

    Whoa. Pump the brakes guys.

    Isn't it possible that,
    1. The league office did listen to the audio tape,
    2. Did, in fact, hear a racial slur,
    3. Didn't feel it was enough to justify belting an opponent with his own helmet?

    Seems like the plan...

Indefinite means that they haven't decided on a proper number of games. So I don't know how you increase a number that hasn't been given yet, but whatever....

I think Myles has already been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion, and I don't think anyone believes his story about a racial slur, that he shared nobody evidently until he was in the New York office.

If I'm Jimmy Haslam I'm even more pissed off at Myles now, since I've already made my public apology and knew nothing of this racial slur. Had that come to light immediately, as it should have (if true), then the entire dynamic would have changed dramatically. This mess just got a little messier I believe.

If they had I think we would know about it by now and might hear about further punishment for Rudolph.

    I understand your point.

All I’m saying is that if the league had plans of getting Myles back on the field to start 2019 (only this season was definite) then a false accusation may make them shelve that and continue to deny Garrett a chance to be reinstated for a longer period.

It is, but then the league would put themselves in the position of possibly having the audio leak and it would flip the table completely over in Garrett’s favor. He would have an easy civil case and the league’s reputation would be destroyed permanently.

I think the more likely scenario is that they further reviewed all of the audio (likely had done a cursory review before the initial suspension) to confirm the accusation one way or another before ultimately deciding to fully upheld the indefinite portion of the suspension.

It does seem VERY strange that Garrett wouldn't have mentioned the slur, at least during his apology to his teammates immediately after that debacle....I'm sure we haven't heard the end of this.

Thanks, BWW. I'm not into Twitter so I don't get info like this.

Y'all can stop pumping the brakes now.
