yeah im not impressed with them. OSU romps them and sends them out of the top 10 and back to the top 15!

I think LSU and OSU play for the championship

  3. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Out of all the current teams that have a shot, Ohio State definitely has the hardest path to get there. I still maintain that, if Clemson ends up playing for the championship, it's a travesty.

Do not sell Penn State short. Much like TSUN, they tend to bring their best effort when playing Ohio State. Both Penn State and Michigan would love nothing more than to torpedo the Buckeyes shot at a national championship.

PSU seems to lose on the Big 10 big stage a lot when it counts. Same thing happened last year.

Why would it? Outside of the UNC game theyveblooked great. They are defending champs. To get there they'll have to beat a great team in the Semis. They've beaten noone outside Wake Forest but it isnt their fault. They are taking care of business at least. Many great teams have a weird game but hold on to win.

The real travesty is Alabama getting a mulligan with their sched. That sched doesn't deserve to get in once you have a loss, no matter the opponent.

    1. The playoffs for this year should be based on performance for this year. Not what a team did last year.
    2. If they beat a team in the semifinals, that would be the first (and only) quality team they played this year. My point remains they shouldn't even be in the mix for the semifinals.
    3. Saying their schedule isn't their fault is false. Unlike the NFL, college teams construct their own schedule. Their ACC schedule starts out soft. If they truly wanted to be a national power, then they should stop scheduling teams like Wofford. Clemson is the only power 5 conference team that scheduled a game against a school with only 1600 students.
    4. I would take a 1 loss SEC team over an undefeated ACC team every day of the week.

Clemson shouldn't have scheduled an FCS team, but so does Alabama, every year for that warm up before Auburn. And Wofford student total doesn't matter. They are in the FCS playoffs so talk smack about being FCS, enrolment doesn't matter.

1 loss Alabama did shit all. SHIT ALL.Their scheduling this year has been atrocious. Duke is almost always bad, They schedule New Mexico State who is a terrible independent, possibly still a terrible Sun Belt team at time of scheduling, Southern Miss and an FCS game right before the Auburn game.

Clemson scheduled Texas A&M at least. They were considered very strong at the time. They also took 2 cupcakes. I hate that too. At least Clemson has 9 conference games. Alabama has 8 and scheduled 3 cupcakes and a historically weak power conference team.

Alabama only has 1 decent win. That is vs Texas A&M, who they were forced to play while Clemson scheduled them. Alabama has ZERO other good wins. When the season is Over A&M should have 4 losses, and Auburn 5. Clemson has Wake Forrest. Not much better but may be 9-3.

So tell me how Alabama should be in ahead of Clemson? They take all your Clemson points and do it much worse. Clemson at least would take care of business. Undefeated they have a better case than most 1-loss schools. Many of those other schools will only have 1 decent to good win to their name but carry the loss.

I never said Alabama should be in ahead of Clemson. I said Alabama would probably be in along with Clemson.

Either way Alabama has done nothing. Oklahoma, Penn State, even Minnesota, have done more. Committee is rewarding Georgia for good wins and a bad loss at #4 but Alabama is getting rewarded for no good wins but a bad loss. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

This goes back to what I said in a much earlier post about the makeup of the four playoff teams should be based on this year's performance. Not what they did in past years. The only way Alabama and Clemson are even in the discussion is because of what they did in prior years.

Well Clemson going undefeated gives them leeway. I don't see why Alabama deserves any. They got their chance, no matter how hard, and failed.

#4 depends on who the loss was too. If Bama lost to Vanderbilt and Clemson was undefeated, then Clemson should get the nod. If Bama lost to a top ranked SEC team by a few points, that's different.

Why would 12-1;Bama get the nod ober 13-0 Clemson when they beat no one. Just like Clemson they both beat no one but Clemson doesn't have a loss. Doesn't matter who it's to.

Unfortunately Alabama probably gets in if Georgia loses another game. If they beat LSU I believe LSU still goes along with Georgia

ACC has a bowl problem. Lyman is right! ACC in football isn't that good. In basketball, they have 2 of the best teams in the nation. the ACC needs to get a lot better in football or steal teams from another conference to get better and or get more respect. Clemson and 2 loss ND aren't cutting it!

In an alternate universe, I wish the SEC and ACC would dump all the teams into one big pot and divide them all up across the board to build 2 super conferences with some dogs as well. And have the Big 10 go back to the big 10 only and kick out Maryland, Rutgers and Nebraska! Maryland and Rutgers go into the SEC/ACC pot to pick from. As for ND...only if the Big 10 adds one solid team to go to 11, then ND makes 12. I'm fine with Nebraska, but feel they should go back to the Big 12.

I think they're getting primed to get jumped by other teams but it shouldn't have to come until then.

LSU is probably in regardless now that Baylor isn't undefeated. The scenarios should clear up right before championship week.

Agree. Basically, if the current top 4 win out . . . they're in. However, come conference championship weekend, the SEC will probably have 2 of the top four playing each other. If the loser is LSU, they should still get in over Alabama. If the loser is Georgia . . . let the pissing and moaning begin.

If Ohio State wins out - they deserve to be there. If they lose a game, I don't know.

They should make it over Alabama

If Ohio State loses to either Penn State or Michigan - then Bama will jump them in the rankings. If they lose the Big10 CG, they're also out and the winner (Minnesota, maybe Wisconsin?) goes to the Rose Bowl.
