WTH are you even talking about Beach? What whole thing? The ass kicking of Pittsburgh? Thanks for chiming in, but you're misunderstanding my take. I'm just pointing out that if you were really that appalled by the way the Browns DB's were hitting last night, then you probably wouldn't have enjoyed football in the 70's and 80's, because, as I mentioned, hits like those were commonplace. Even encouraged in fact. Do I need a football history lesson from you. I think not. You are just mad that the Steelers got smacked down last night. FTR: I'm thought Randall's hit was cheap....Williams was just in an unfortunate spot.
There was a time that hockey was a brutal bloody sport and fighting was commonplace and we all enjoyed it. Football 20 to 30 years ago or more was different and we enjoyed it. Times have changed. What happened then can't happen now. Sports have changed and we've changed with them.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/some-b...lmet-isnt-getting-enough-blame-141912830.html some players are blaming Rudolph as well including Deion Sanders. Rudolph gets tackled to the ground after he throws a pass. He definitely grabs Garrett's facemask and looks like he is trying to pull it off Garrett's head, but Garrett beat him to it. What Garrett did with swinging it is entirely on him.
This game we love is a violent game and they’ve been trying to clean it up, but in the end it’s still a violent game and the only way to really stop it would be to play two hard touch or flag football. That said you can’t rip off someone’s helmet and bash them with it.
Remember Kyle Turley and him throwing the Jets helmet? Players are freaking crazy. Nothing has changed.
I asked this question of someone on the Browns board but would like some feedback here as well... Had the action stopped prior to the helmet swing --- Rudolph pulls at helmet, Garrett pulls off helmet, players pull them apart and nothing else happens --- how many games should they have suspended? Garrett: Rudolph:
Which corner of your ass did you pull that from ??? While it has been illegal to remove your or an opponent's helmet for quite some time, I can't find any link from the rule book to automatic suspensions for doing so. The only automatic suspensions all deal with repeated violations of substance abuse and/or personnal conduct policies.
I'm seeing a lot of old people that haven't grown up here. "Back in my day it was all good so fuck these millennials and their safety. Now where did I put down my crack pipe? My memory isn't the same after getting bashed so much playing foosball."
Burnett was caught up in it on his impact shortly after, Greedy was at the very least lazy in his stance with time to spare and targeted.
Trent Williams played his last game for Washington on Dec. 30. He will not play for the team again, Williams has made clear. All that is left is for Washington to trade Williams in the offseason. “Pretty much just seeing where I’m going to be at, getting a fresh start, and being able to lace my cleats up and get back on the football field,” Williams told Rhiannon Walker of TheAthletic.com. “That’s just what I look forward to. A nice little break, it’s what my body needed, but in my mind, I’m ready to get back.” Williams repeatedly defended owner Dan Snyder while accusing team doctors of misdiagnosing a tumor on his head. But Williams told Walker that Snyder was unhappy with Williams criticizing the organization and retaliated by placing Williams on the non-football injury list and opting not to pay him. “Obviously, me speaking out about it, [Snyder] wasn’t too happy about it,” Williams said. “Obviously, no matter what I said or how I felt about him, just speaking out against the organization and kind of putting people on notice about how things are going around there, I don’t think he was particularly happy with that, which led to them putting me on the NFI list prematurely and choosing not to pay me. “Of course, he had a leg in that. It is what it is, at this point. It’s over with. I’ll never be a Redskin again, so I don’t have to worry about it.” source; PFT
