I can’t believe a player would get that crazy in a game that you are eight seconds away from winning.

Rudolph went after him and grabbed hes facemask after being tackled to the ground after passing the ball. i don't think he was thinking about the clock at the moment?

    He’s thinking about it now

Myles got the punishment he deserved, there is no excusing his actions.. Let's not pretend Rudolph was an innocent bystander here.

    1) Tries ripping Garrett's helmet off
    2) kicks him in the groin while his Steelers teammates are pulling Garrett off
    3) After getting his helmet ripped off and Myles is retreating with the help of DeCastro...Rudolph is the one that looks like a crazy man trying to get his licks in while Myles is held...which THEN led to Myles doing the unthinkable.

I am in NO WAY stating he deserved what he got from Myles, nor am I defending Garrett in any sense. Pouncey deserved his 3 games, Ogunjobi deserved his 1 game...but I also feel Rudolph is not a victim here, he also deserves more punishment than just a fine.

people online are stating Rudolph reacted to be tackled to the ground after he threw a pass with 8 seconds left as unnecessary by Garrett. That's why Rudolph reacted that way. Not condoning it, but it seems like the tackle set him off.

Well, if we are making statements about what is and is not necessary.. How about being down by 14 points inside your own 20 yard line with under 20 seconds to go and playing like you still have a chance to tie the game or win it? If YOU aren't stopping your play, why should the defense?

Everyone has opinions on what happened, mine just doesn't align with the "black and white" "facts" everyone else seems to be talking about. It is of my opinion that the Steelers and Rudolph had responsibility in the melee as well...not Myles Garrett's final actions.. but in the melee that ensued.

I gotta have another look at how said kick happened. That could change my opinion on a fine vs suspension. That being said if it's close...he's a QB and the league isn't gonna suspend him on a relatively borderline fine/suspension call.

    And on a lighter note:

People, mainly Browns fans, keep saying Rudolph kicked him in the groin. He didn't imo. He pushed him away with his leg. If you look up girl fights, you'll see that a lot. One with a handful of hair and the other pushing away with their feet.

That said, I'm actually shocked Rudolph walked with just a fine. Let's be honest, he was the first to go for a helmet. When DeCastro pulled Garrett away, Rudolph went back after him. He had his hand in the incident going as far as it did.

For the record, I'd have been perfectly fine with Rudolph not getting more than a fine IF the NFL didn't suspend Ogunjobi for just a push. Cowardly act, definitely, but easily the lightest physical act that happened. If Ogunjobi deserved a suspension for that push then Rudolph deserved a suspension also

Are you kidding me or just being deliberately obtuse. Rudolph "pushed him away with his leg" (that just happened to have a foot attached to the end of it) BEFORE the two of them ended up on the ground and the helmet tugging ensued.

    On this part, I agree.

You call it as you see it, and I call it as I do. While they are rolling around on the ground, I don't see Rudolph's leg in a kicking motion. More of a pushing motion

Take it to another board, please, gentlemen. This is a board for the absurd and inane. We've got a Steelers/Browns game thread to go to.

I agree with this for the most part. Leg push more than anything. Still not a good look but not a "kick" also there was no crotch grab later. Mason was borderline suspendable. At borderline you don't suspend the QB. Ogunjobi was a definite suspension though. Not his fight, back turned (defenseless) and no helmet knocking him to ground. He went out of his way too. I feel the suspensions were all on the money from the incident. Mason getting 1 or none was fine either way.

My podcast on the issue is coming out for it tomorrow. And for Browns fans that listen I am not generalizing Browns fans in anything negative I say about them, more like specific ones (off site) I've seen so any mention is directed at them and not at the fans as a whole or anyone here really.

    Florida again......

At about 2 a.m. on Friday, a man driving across the Courtney Campbell Causeway revved his engine and tried to bait a fellow motorist into racing him.

Unbeknownst to the man with a need for speed, the driver he was trying to bait was a Clearwater police officer.

The officer pulled over Connor Michael Proleika, 20, of Tampa, and arrested him on a charge of racing on a highway, which is a misdemeanor. Worse for Proleika, the arrest resulted in him violating probation on previous charges of grand theft and possession of a controlled substance, which are felonies.

An arrest report chronicles how the officer was driving east on the Courtney Campbell at about 2 a.m. Friday when the incident occurred. The report does not indicate what kind of vehicle Proleika was driving or if the officer was driving in a marked police vehicle.

The officer wrote in the report that Proleika revved his engine and tried to “bait” him into racing. Proleika then took off and reached a top speed of 124 mph, according to the officer’s report.

When the officer pulled him over, Proleika said “he was just trying to go fast and didn’t know I was a police officer,” the arrest report states.

As of Sunday morning, Proleika was being held in the Pinellas County jail. A written plea of not guilty had been entered on his behalf.
