This is a team that signed Kareem Hunt. Yeah they released a player for what he did on twitter...but if that player was as good as Garrett is I doubt they would have.
The fact that is all over national news will drive Goodell to possibly make an example out of Myles. I don’t think certain added elements towards him being reinstated after suspension can be ruled out. Anger management classes and evaluation? And that’s not a suggestion on my part. I’m just looking through the futurama lenses and trying to imagine how the league’s PR department will want to play this.
Not saying it's right but the reason he did it is justified in my opinion. Your teammate just got struck with an object that can actually do some real harm. He jumped to his defense.
That's not what Pouncey was doing and I think you know that. A center should stand up for his QB. That's what he did. After Garrett swung the helmet...the punches and kicks were deserved.
If my teammate is in danger....I'm coming to his defense. I expect Pouncey to be suspended. I just don't agree with it. I think a fine covers it.
Exactly. They aren't cutting him. Whether its by design or lack of control from coaches(prob the former), there is mounting evidence that this team is trying to set some kind of new badass identity for itself. That comes with collateral, always does. They obvs won't have expected the kind of collateral that's gonna come from Garrett's moment of insanity, but unless the 2019 Browns really are just out of control and someone above the HC decides to step in, he aint getting cut. Im of the opinion there's no chance he's back this season. Can you see them extending any suspension into next season? It would seem a seasons end represents a natural place to draw the line, but given all the emphasis on safety these days, who knows.
I think it’s a possibility but it may depend on whether or not Rudolph and his agent pursue civil recourse. The league’s main objective will be, as always, to protect the brand. Having a civil litigation over an on field incident is something they would want to avoid, but if they cannot then they will look for ways to keep the focus squarely on Garrett’s actions. Easiest way to do that is to keep him off the field for as long as possible.
Was his agent just running his mouth when he said that? He was suggesting suing Garrett right? What for exactly? There was no lasting physical damage that could be proven id say. And if there's no criminal charge what would they have to go on?
The only Steeler who could possibly get suspended is Pouncey, I don’t think he really deserves it after what Garrett did. If they do suspend Pouncey he should not shouldn’t appeal and just miss the Bengals game. We are possibly going to be very short handed with all the targeting they did to our WRs
Not suspending Rudolph would be a tougher punishment on the Steelers. Worst QB I've ever seen suit up for the black and gold.
