I have never in my life (which is lengthy) been so pissed off after a win over the Steelers. How pissed off am I ? I hope Dorsey cuts his ass in the morning.
I totally agree. I had to have it with some Browns fans that thought it mattered. It really doesn't. It's it's own incident. He should get fined but Myles is done for the year.
I thought the Toledo targeting ejection would be the worst I'd see for a while but then the Browns have not 1, but possibly 2 worse plays today. At least the college guy could be confused by thinking the QB wasn't down (NCAA rules you are down right away, so it's probably worse, but it's easy to forget that rule).
Was it really worse than Antonio Brown's flying karate kick to our punters' face a few years ago? No. lol! Paybacks are a bitch. SUCK IT STEELERS! Heated rivalry just got hotter.
In live speed it may not look completely crazy if you think the guy is trying to hit the QB so he could be down by contact, but it's pretty unnecessary. Then you remember that by college rules he was down the moment he hit the ground and OMG is it bad.
Forgot about the Greedy Williams hit. That was dirty too. Maybe more lazy than anything but it doesn't fly. They took out the #1 and #2 Steelers WRs.
Just like James Harrison did to our receivers for years...Tough shit. Some of you guys would not have been able to stomach the game that I grew up with in the 70's and 80's evidently.
It was extreme, but for as long as I can remember, the Browns/Steelers rivalry has been riddled with crazy shit like the melee we saw last night. Not defending Garrett...Just chalk this up with the "Turkey" Jones pile-driving of Terry Bradshaw. Or Jack Lambert's cheap sideline shot on Brian Sipe when he was ready to fight our entire team.....Or Antonio's karate kick on Spencer Lanning....Or James Harrison knocking out the drunk Browns fan, after he'd already knocked out 2 of our WR's....Or Joey Porter in a pregame brawl with anyone in a Browns helmet...... Not for women and children when these two teams hook-up....
Sorry, TD, but there was nothing sportsmanlike about what happened last night. Garrett instigated it with a late and unnecessary take down. Then he completely went over the top when he ripped off the helmet. Yet somehow, he managed to top that off by trying to use that helmet as a weapon. I doubt he will see the field again till next season, considering his growing history of targeting quarterbacks.
Who said there was anything sportsmanlike about it? I mentioned he will be punished. I agree we probably won't see MG on the field again this season. Not defending his actions Tim. Just pointing out that this rivalry is chalked full of egregious behavior.
The only time I can ever remember seeing a player rip a guys helmet off and then try to bash him with it was in the early 80's when Lyle Alzado, undoubtedly in a roid-rage, did it to a Jets player. But he went after a big offensive lineman, not a QB. Yeah, Myles is in deep shit on this one, with only himself to blame.
Thanks for sparking my memory, lol. I was trying to remember something like this and it kept fuzzily appearing but I couldn’t quite grab it. Alcohol, man... It does things...
