haha. didn't a FSU kicker from the 90's, Scott Bentley, start the parade to the free shoe brigade of taking shoes and not paying for them ? haha.
LSU holds on and beats Bama and Saban! Wow. What a game! PSU loses too. Lots of movement for the top 5.
to be honest lyman, i didn't think PSU was that good. They beat Michigan and that's their best win. They didn't play OSU yet, which i assumed will be another loss.
Both the AP and Coaches poll have: LSU Ohio State Clemson Alabama Georgia The FBS rankings due out later today should reflect the same. Maybe.
College Football Playoff rankings (prior week ranking ): LSU 9-0 (2) Ohio State 9-0 (1) Clemson 10-0 (5) Georgia 8-1 (6) Alabama 8-1 (3) Oregon 8-1 (7) Utah 8-1 (8) Minnesota 9-0 (17) Penn State 8-1 (4) Oklahoma 8-1 (9)
BOOO… Buckeyes put up 73 and fall in the rankings to a team with a defense that gave up 40+. Oh well, just keep on winning and it all works out.
Too soon for anybody to get their panties in a wad. There's still three weeks to go (plus conference championship games) before the final, and most important, rankings come out. To me, the two big winners from last weekend were: Clemson. They lucked back into a playoff spot due to losses by two teams ranked ahead of them (#3 Alabama & #4 Penn State). Looking forward, there is certainly a chance that the Big10 and SEC knock one of their own out of a playoff berth. Three of the top 5 teams are all in the SEC. With three games remaining plus the conference championship game - something has to give. Ohio State finishes the regular season against Penn State and Michigan. It doesn't matter what the W/L records are - these teams always play each other tough. Meanwhile, while the Big10 and SEC are eating their young, Clemson only plays 2 more games then the ACC championship game. If there is a God, South Carolina will play Clemson like they played Georgia earlier in the year. Minnesota. Rocketed up the list from #17 to #8 by beating the #4 ranked team. It certainly looks as if the Golden Golphers win the Big10 - West. The best scenario for them is for Ohio State to win out, then beat the Buckeyes in the Big10 championship game. The reality here is; that probably puts the Golphers in the Rose Bowl and the Buckeyes in the Pinstripe (pick a non-new years day) Bowl.
