Well that sucks! After starting the week at 2-0 alltime for regular season games played in Europe, the Buffalo Sabres finished the week at 2-2.

Stockholm is a great city. Although it is The North here. Sunset was at 3:31 this afternoon. Otherwise it’s been drizzling the whole time I’ve been here. Still, a city worth seeing (again), and November may be the worst month to visit. In December it’ll get dark we’ll before 3:00, but the drizzle will be replaced with a white blanket. Otherwise, there are other things here to divert one’s eyes.

The Ericsson Globe is the most unique barn I’ve been been in. It’s a globe outside, and solid red inside. The games were played on an NHL-size rink. Since Euro rinks are much larger, there was a big gap between the glass and the first row.

I had good seats, and I made it on Swedish TV. I attribute that to the fact I was sitting next to a smokin-hot Swede. She’s photogenic.

Sabres fan represented well, and the locals leaned to Buffalo. Having six Swedes in-country vs. one for the Bolts helped. Everyone is nice, and that’s weird.

Rasmus Dahlin is reminding us that he’s only 19. Offensively he belongs in the NHL. I think he’s thinking - for the first time in his play - about HOW to play defense. That’s showing. He’ll be fine in time. He is still playing at a level that Hedman was playing while the Bolt was two years older than him.

 

flyers win 3 in a row. i didn't agree with the late penalty shot call and the asking for it by pasternik of the bruins. he wasn't in the clear. the flyers guy was right on his back. no one threw their stick or anything else. pasternik argued he was in the clear. the clear is 3-4 spaces away. the flyers defender was on his back. that's not a penalty shot. hart saved it and stood tall in OT! Wahoo!
