He's credited with being really good with young QBs - although I'll admit sometimes that stuff is a little overblown.

Freddie, already on the payroll, showed he was really, really good with a young QB.

And the reason we're having this discussion now is because Baker has regressed to his w/out Kitchens numbers thus far in 2019:

    I really like Avery.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he makes a quick and sustained impact for the Eagles.

I hate they traded Avery for peanuts .

Wilks couldn't figure out how to use him ??

They did move him to DE . I guess Dorsey wont admit he screwed up the Zeitler trade for Vernon . I would rather have Avery than well . that's me . I am not sold on Wilks . the front 4 was supposed to be the strength . not working out is it as the Browns still cant stop the run .

I look for Randall to be gone before tomorrow . NP since he will want some stupid amount of $$$ and he hasn't played well this year .

    Anybody missing Peppers yet ?

Freddie and Dorsey sticking it to the analytics guys by continuing to avoid them at all costs.

Translation: the Patriots offered us their third round pick and that's all we have so far.

Memo to the Browns: do *not* compound the issues by giving up draft capital for Trent Williams.

Waaayyyyy too many variables to make any kind of assumption here as your next post shows. I don't think anyone really knows at this point what Freddie's strengths or weaknesses are. Need to see more.

Not trying to be a dick but according to who? This is part of the problem among not just fans but the guys who sit behind the camera and evaluate all this off-season stuff. At one point, about 5 years ago, Sheldon Richardson was thought of pretty highly. Since that time the Jets, Seahawks and Vikings all decided to move on from him and yet when he signs with the Browns everyone evaluates the move as if we're talking about the guy from 5 years ago. There's a reason he's a former Jet, Seahawk and Viking. And it's probably also going to be the reason he's a former Brown prior to the 3rd day of the league year next March. Because if he's on the roster that day, 6.5M of his 12M base salary becomes guaranteed. I don't think the Browns are going to want to pay him 12M next year.

Who says either of these things are true?

Browns hemorrhaged yards against San Francisco's zone blocking scheme, including 80+ yards on their first play, so that's inflating an overall poor number. They held the Rams, Ravens, and Patriots to fewer yards than they average this year (excluding their game against Cleveland).

Myles Garrett is on pace to break the NFL sack record.

Larry Ogunjobi is tied for third in sacks among defensive tackles and is only 2.0 sacks behind reigning two-time NFL MVP Aaron Donald.

I won't argue that Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson have been disappointing -- given how well their counterparts are playing -- but as with the team as a whole, I've got disappointment to go around. No one on the team, besides Garrett and Chubb, are playing at an acceptable level.

The playoffs are still a possibility for the Browns but only if they can beat their #1 opponent: The Browns.

Give up the ball 3 times a game and Miami will be a reach to win. Commit double digit penalties, and the story is the same.

The coach is struggling mightily, and therefor so is the team. The weird personnel activity smells bad. Avery, Higgins, Carrie, Calloway, WTF? Robinson making the announcement that he is out, instead of our HC? It's like Freddie is so unsure of himself that he can't even defend moves (like taking a false start then going for it). He's in trouble, and while I'm pretty sure no change will happen this season, that may be bad news for the team.

The Dorse was basking in the praise of the media for his "bold moves" this off season, is the father of Freddie as HC, and can't walk away.

Baker and OBJ can't seem to get it together, in part because while OBJ has made some "hero" catches he has also failed to catch a number of much more catchable balls, undermining Baker's confidence in him. Last year our recievers made nearly every catch, even when ball placement was poor, this year, not so much.

The good news is Chubb is a beast. We can win without the high flying aerial circus, if we'd just accept that, and focus on it as the base of the O. Get a couple of mundane wins without the heroics, and let's find out who we are.

As for the O line. Please don't throw our #1 draft pick and another good player at this problem!

We've got a softer schedule ahead, and enough talent to win. It all hinges on our first year HC, and adding an expensive O lineman won't make that any different. I want a dominant left tackle as much as anyone, but we don't have one. Deal with it, but don't give away the next couple years to do it.

Freddie will either figure it out, or won't, but the left tackle won't save the season.

    Not being discussed much, but...

Browns *desperately* need to re-sign J.C. Tretter. He's currently playing at the highest level of any center in the NFL and has been consistently good. They were already tentatively committed, by virtue of a one-year extension, but by benching Greg Robinson and moving to Justin McCray - they've telegraphed what one of the biggest needs for the team will be heading into the offseason. No need to compound that by (1) trading a first rounder for Trent Williams, or (2) leaving center as another position along the offensive line to address.

Glad they didn't trade off a whole bunch of stuff to gain a player or two. Not sure if that was Dorsey's decision or the Haslams. From what I read about Trent Williams, the Skins wanted Denzel Ward and pick/s. Thank gawd that didn't happen. Hell, even a 1st and 2nd is too steep for a guy who is gonna be 32 next season and who the Browns would probably sign to a new (expensive FA-esque) contract. Don't get me wrong. They could use him but not at those prices, and especially by not giving away a young 1st rounder to boot (regardless of his hamstring this year and concussions last year).
