Better jump on that and hope the number doesn’t float.

Around the timeframe I expected. 0-4 weeks with 4 weeks meaning December 1st due to a bye in 5 weeks. It didn't look serious. It all depends on the irritation from any strains and the extent of it.

After Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said of the officials, “I’ll probably get fined for this, but they were pretty bad today.”

Mayfield was right: He did get fined.

The NFL fined Mayfield $12,500 for his criticism of the officiating.

Mayfield called out the officials for two plays in particular, both involving Jarvis Landry. One was an illegal blindside block penalty called on Landry, while the other was a ruling that Landry had fumbled, on a play when the Browns thought he had reached the ball over the goal line before losing possession.

The Browns are off this week, so Mayfield will have some time to get over his hurt hip, and his hurt feelings that the officials didn’t call last week’s game the way he wanted.

And to think people were worried about OBJ running off at the mouth. Someone needs to teach this kid how to access stats on the internet.

Hint: It would probably be a good idea to have more TD's than Interceptions.

Mayfield has the chip on his shoulder asshole syndrome. Underdog and living on highs mentality but when things go bad he's acting like AB.

Not the best analogy but I think it works well enough.

Lots of people last year said Baker is entertaing but personally i thought it would get old quick. He ismalways running his mouth about something or someone and when you are winning it doesnt look as bad but when you are not then yeah you look like he does right now.

That being said the comercial where ismcleaning the stadium with the dust buster is funny.

The one where he and his wife are sitting in the nose bleed section and she asked him to get her a drink. So he trudges down and across the field then back across the field and up to the nose bleed section and hands her the drink. She looks at him and says, "No straw?"

Airplane banner in Jacksonville says Gardner Minshew “ain’t afraid of no ghosts”

Six days after Jets quarterback Sam Darnold saw ghosts against the Patriots, someone in Jacksonville wants the Jets to realize that the local starting quarterback will suffer no such fate.

Via Connor Hughes of TheAthletic.com, a banner flying over the Jaguars home stadium prior to Sunday’s game against the Jets declares that “Gardner Minshew ain’t afraid of no ghosts.”

Of course, Minshew is facing the Jets not the Patriots. So if anybody will be seeing ghosts today, it will be Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, in New England.

And it won’t actually be easy for Darnold on Sunday, against a very good Jacksonville defense.

Regardless, we’ve established that Garder Minshew has something in common with Peter Venkman and/or Ray Parker, Jr.

NFL teams have a winning record when playing their backup QBs this year...

It’s a common refrain from NFL fans: If we lose our starting quarterback, we’re screwed.

But that isn’t the case, at all. In fact, NFL teams actually have a winning record this season when forced to go to a backup because of an injury to their starter.

So far this season, 35 games have been started by a backup quarterback. Teams are 20-15 in those games.

Saints backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater led the way by going 5-0 in the games Drew Brees missed with a thumb injury. Panthers backup quarterback Kyle Allen has gone 5-1 so far filling in for the injured Cam Newton.

The Jaguars went 4-4 in games Gardner Minshew started, although they’re going back to Nick Foles now that he’s healthy again.

The Steelers have managed to go 3-2 with Mason Rudolph after Ben Roethlisberger was lost for the season, and they even managed to go 1-0 with third-stringer Devlin Hodges when Rudolph missed a game.

The Broncos are 1-0 with Brandon Allen in place of the injured Joe Flacco, and the Chiefs went 1-1 with Matt Moore while Patrick Mahomes was out.

Even when teams lose with their backup, it’s not necessarily because the starting quarterback is out. Although they went 0-1 without Matt Ryan, the Falcons’ offense looked surprisingly effective when Matt Schaub started the week Ryan missed.

There have, of course, been some offenses that looked like garbage with their backups. That group of teams is led by the Jets, who went 0-2 with Luke Falk and 0-1 with Trevor Siemian. Also included in that category is Washington, which went 0-1 with both Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy, and Chicago, which went 0-1 with Chase Daniel. But those offenses all look bad with their starting quarterbacks, too.

Overall this season, the results of quarterback injuries have been surprising: Teams that lost good quarterbacks saw backups play well enough to win in their place. Most of the teams whose offenses struggled with their backup quarterbacks have offenses that struggle with their starters, too.

Gee, it's almost as if teams with a talented roster and good coaching can win even without a "franchise quarterback". Who woulda thunk it?

I agree with you Lyman and detect a hint of sarcasm also... but I could be wrong.

I want to take this moment to say that your Browns QB, Baker Mayfield, has been getting shelled by fans and the media constantly as if he's the 'sole' reason why the Browns have struggled. His demeaner, attitude and raw talent have been questioned, almost non-stop. I will admit to questioning his attitude and decision making ability, but im not down there on the field of action either, in the heat of the battle, making split second decisions.

This is a team oriented NFL, everything can not be on Mayfield. The team around him, the coaching, all are part of the overall general health and effectiveness of the team, not just the QB play.

The QB has to be effective for the team to win . He can't be garbage. They don't have to be HOF , if they aren't they better be good at ball protection .
