Not mentioned, but alluded to (re: PIT D). However injury is obviously a factor in their (probably) lost season. I am far from convinced that Rudolph is their future franchise QB. I am virtually certain that he’s not capable of doing what Big Ben achieved in his rookie season. I think the biggest concern for Steelers fans this year is how high Miami will select with their pick. I’m not being testy. I just see this as a question of “Balt. or Clev.” in 2019.
Oh heaven forbid. I must have been thinking of some other poor unfortunate team....Either that or I just don't really give a fuck. Not sure.
Okay, I just spent a little time looking at the schedule for the AFCN teams for the rest of the season. I tried very hard to be objective. Browns 2-4 : Week 7: Bye Week 8: @ Patriots - LOSS Week 9: @ Broncos - WIN Week 10: Bills - LOSS Week 11: Steelers - WIN Week 12: Dolphins - WIN Week 13: @ Steelers - LOSS Week 14: Bengals - WIN Week 15: @ Cardinals - WIN Week 16: Ravens - PUSH Week 17: @ Bengals - WIN Final Record: 9-7-0 (maybe 8-8-0) Steelers 2-4-0 : Week 7: Bye Week 8: Dolphins - WIN Week 9: Colts - WIN Week 10: Rams - PUSH Week 11: @ Browns - LOSS Week 12: @ Bengals - WIN Week 13: Browns - WIN Week 14: @ Cardinals - WIN Week 15: Bills - LOSS Week 16: @ Jets - WIN Week 17: @ Ravens - PUSH Final Record: 8-8-0 (maybe 10-6-0) Ravens 4-2-0 : Week 7: @ Seahawks - LOSS Week 8: Bye Week 9: Patriots - LOSS Week 10: @ Bengals - WIN Week 11: Texans - PUSH Week 12: @ Rams - LOSS Week 13: 49ers - LOSS Week 14: @ Bills - LOSS Week 15: Jets - WIN Week 16: @ Browns - PUSH Week 17: Steelers - PUSH Final Record: Anywhere from 6-10-0 to 9-7-0 Bengals : They might tie the Jets in week 13 and beat the Dolphins in week 16. Final Record: 1-15-0 (maybe 1-14-1)
No, the game in question was closer than the final, but it doesn't matter. That was an alcohol fueled remark, and I could have chosen better words. My bad. lol! I apologize..... I'm just getting tired of reading and hearing how we've already ruined our season and we got no shot against the Pats, that's all. Not necessarily from you, just in general. FWIW, I was at the game when Brady and the bunch rolled into Cleveland a few years ago, in route to SB whatever, and Colt McCoy's Browns whipped them all afternoon. So crazier things have happened. We'll see how it goes next Sunday in New England.
My quick thoughts - I think the difference between a 7-9 and a 9-7 record will likely play out in weeks 15 and 16 for the Browns. The Steelers likely have the difference between 6-10 and 8-8 decided in weeks 16 and 17. The Ravens will likely need a win in week 17 to get to 9 wins and a division title. The Bengals are already playing for next season.
Appreciate you being the bigger man. For the record I think Cleveland has a very real shot against the Pats, I just think Baltimore does as well. AFCN wide open still. Was the game you were at the game Peyton Hillis looked like Earl Campbell against NE?
Had to have been that one. I think that's the only time the Browns have beaten the Patriots since the Patriots dumped the best helmet logo ever in the NFL. That patriot in a 3 point stance was classic !!!
Yeah, the "White Rhino" was rumbling that afternoon....Talk about a one hit wonder. That dude disappeared faster than he came onto the scene.
100% in agreement Lyman, the flying Elvis logo is brutal. Pat the Patriot was so great I think they were just trying to rebrand the worst franchise in the league under the new golden boy QB- Drew Bledsoe
I was born in Connecticut and, to this day, still have a soft spot for anything related to history from the Revolutionary War. That's probably why I dont share the typical midwesterner's disdain for the Patriots.
Technically born in to Patriots’ country. I’m sure you remember it wasn’t too long ago that they almost moved to Connecticut. St. Louis too
That was Bill Parcell's decision to switch to the flying Elvis. He had some flaws. Remember, Parcell is a New Jersey guy. And Jersey guys are not known for their sartorial savvy.
Meh, I moved to Ohio long before the Patriots were even a glimmer in Lamar Hunt's eye. But I was almost around for the Boston Redskins.
The funny thing is, the tics I got for that game were amazing. Best seats I've ever had for a sporting event. There wasn't a single soul in the state of Ohio that thought Cleveland had a chance. I bought the seats through stubhub the day before the game, only because the weather was perfect, and my wife (at the time) wanted to go see Brady play. Front row in the loge section at the 40 yard line, and I paid less than $50 for the pair. lol! Hillis was incredible! I had so much fun that day.....
