i would be interesting if their wasn't a point spread. just have it like babyfan's NFL pickum of the top 15 teams etc. now most would be heavy favorites each week but there are upsets as the season goes on.
And every participant would finish the season with 1 or 2 losses (if that). The NFL works very hard to put out a balanced schedule. The NCAA, on the other hand, allows each school to develop their own schedule around their respective conference. Some conferences (like the ACC) are like the AFC East. There's simply not enough of a challenge involved picking the top 15 teams straight up.
Have we had a football game I didn't play? I always join every pickem type game we have. I liked the suicide game social had too. I wish he would have kept it.
However . . . I would consider playing the conference championship games and perhaps the early bowl games straight up.
Via; @Lyman I'm thinking about starting an NCAA Football Pick'em contest next year. Trying to get a feel for how many of you would be interested in participating. Lots of details to work out, but . . . It will probably use the the top 15 teams in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Due to scheduling differences between the NCAA and the NFL, it will probably use the opening point spread for the games each week. Winner will be based on correct picks percentage. There will be a penalty for missed picks . . . just haven't figured that out yet. There will probably be a sign up routine that will be used at the end of the season as a tie breaker, if necessary. Just reply to this post if you're interested. I may contact some that do (via PM) to see if you want to participate in a test drive this year that would let me work the bugs out of a spreadsheet that I'll use to manage the contest.
Louisville on the board... #3Clemson 10, Louisville 3 Illinois scores on Wisconsin... 10-7, Badgers OKLA 28, WVU 7
The climate at Happy Valley is electric ! Talk about home field advantage. Penn State 14 TSUN 0 early 2nd Qtr.
#33 for TSUN has to be drafted by the Packers. His jersey sales alone will pay for his signing bonus (His last name is CHEESEMAN)
Ive seen every Mi*hig*n game this season and for the life of me cant see how they remain in the Top 25, especially after falling to 5-2.
