Yep. I personally think the Patriots are the best team in the NFL. But, if I stay true to the subjective data, they come in at number 3 behind the Packers and the Chiefs.
I watched the Dallas/Packers game. I also watched the Packers/Eagles game. The Packers won one and lost one of those. Both games were good ones in their own way. The Eagles played better than the Packers and the Packers played better than the Cowboys. I remember back when you were looking at games lost by your offensive coordinator. That has something to do with the performance...and coaching and preparation was what I brought up earlier. Not figuring the games lost....how many games last season do you reflect on concerning performance now? Seems to me what matters after the games is the win record.
New Orleans moved up to #2 this week in the ESPN Rankings. I agree with the comments beside some of the polls. That the Saints record has to be attributed to greatly by the coaching.
Yes...and I was right about that. He was fired shortly after for HIS sub-par season. It could. Or it could simply mean the PLAYERS didn't execute as they should have...as I believe was a primary culprit of the offensive line in the game against New Orleans. Not sure I'm getting what you mean. Last season is last season - I don't reflect on last year's games NOW.
His position was replaced but if I remember right, he was still on the team, at least for the next season he was. It wasn't a sub-par season either, Dallas came 2 wins short of winning their division (2013). Surely you know the Saints defense were going to stop Ezekiel Elliot for as few yards as they can, and to strip the ball if they can. He had 35 total yards on 18 carries. It''s not like he was just falling down, he was being knocked down. And the ball was taken from him once. Surely you will also know that Lattimore was going to stick with Cooper and make him as much a nonfactor as he can. Because of it, Dak had his lowest 3rd quarter QB rating to date at the end of that quarter. (73%). Still, he was 22 out of 33 for 223 yards. You didn't give enough credit due the Saints defense. Sunday they were all over Famous Jameus, sacking him 6 times. Allen is doing an exceptional job this season. Sorry, I could have worded this better. What I was getting at is at the end of the day, which matters the most the performance or the record.
I said "HIS" (Callahan's) sub-par season. He was stripped of play-calling duties, and for good reason.
Well yeah....they didn't play the Saints the week before and get sacked 6 times. So...what's the point? I'm not saying it's not because the Saints are good. Fans will look at things through the lenses of the team they root for.
Naww, all they played was the NFC Champion LA Rams at their own place. And racked up a team record 55 points. After the Chiefs got upset by the Colts I didn't see/hear KC fans griping because they played bad...there may be some that did but I didn't see it.
Every game, every week, is different. Football doesn't make sense sometimes. As I said in a previous post....a few weeks ago the Vikings manhandled the Raiders. The Bears then manhandled the Vikings. Logic would tell you the Bears should probably handle the Raiders. But it was actually the other way around. And how many Chief fans do you interact with on a daily basis, would you say?
I'm bowing out of this because it's reached the point where it goes in circles but I'll leave with this.... Complaining about your own team's shortcomings isn't dismissing the other teams success.
I could have sworn he had the same record the team had. I'm biased but I would have suggested keeping Callahan and let Garrett go. I call it criticism, you call it whining? My, I had been whined at a lot.
So your criticism is okay but fans that criticize their own team are wrong to do so? Noted. Good convo. Have a great day.
LOL! What the hell does that mean...? Then I guess they should have kept Monte Kiffin as defensive coordinator, since he had the same record as everyone else, right? Hey, you can't this both ways. Take your pick.
all these posts of good teams and bad teams and winning games vs bad teams etc. this week is washington vs miami. what the hell is that?
I was talking about the Rams game alone that was the week before, not games played every week. We all know the law of transitivity doesn't work in NFL. A>B and B>C doesnt always equal A>C In 2002, The Saints beat the Bucs twice, the Bucs beat the Falcons twice and the Falcons beat the saints twice. Who cares? I don't even interact with Saints fans on a regular daily basis. I said some griped but I don't HAVE to hear them to know it. That's fine. I started this segue talking about this coming Sunday's Dallas/Jets game. There's only so far we can go on that. What was discussed from there was what has happened to date. I would say giving the other team credit is being a better loser than leaving it out and complaining about performance.
